The Dark Knight Rises As for the end of the third (and maybe the last) movie...

Batman's no more a vigilante, Gordon gives hints to Robin and a potential Batgirl appears (Gordon's daughter) Selina turns to be not that bad, and the Riddler is locked up at Arkham

Well, here's how I'd want the final scene to be...

Most of the film is done, and the villain has been dealt with.

The scene I have in mind is Batman has finally become the true guardian of Gotham, and in the end, he finds a Joker card on the ground and you hear laughter in the distance, as the city has finally gone into full-on freak, and Batman is one of them... but he's the only one who can protect Gotham from the rest.

Gotham loves Batman again, but Bruce Wayne realized that Gotham is no longer worth saving, and that he's going to do this for the rest of his life.
What do you mean by this? Why would he go on at all if Gotham wasn't worth saving?

I do think in the third we need totally new villians, let the movie focus on Batman trying to cope with being public enemy #1, and how Gordon deals with knowing an innocent man is taking all the heat

That is one of the BEST ideas I've heard about how to include the Joker, in a small way, in the third movie. I love this idea.

Have the Joker be the inspiration for more FREAKS to rise in Gotham (possibly have the main villain of Batman 3 directly cite the Joker as "opening the door for the freaks to come out and play"....

....Have the characters still coping with the aftermath of the Joker's siege on Gotham...

... and then include that idea as the ending.. With Batman finding evidence that the Joker has escaped and is out and about plotting...

THE END.

There, now the Joker is actually a big part of Batman 3, and yet we never have to see him. He's a background character who motivates others.

What about a traditional East London knees up? Seeing as Caine and Oldman are from round that way I think it would be a brilliant idea to have them all sitting in a pub drinking bitter and reminiscing about "the olden days".

Gordon's monologue with Batman overlooking Gotham during sunrise. Saying something like "This dark knight is finally over, Gotham's Dawn now begins."

COMPARISON/ ANSWER

Batman Begins, ending: Batman coming towards the viewer
The Dark Knight, ending: Batman going away from viewer (s)

Batman 3, ending: FAR different than the first two.

ANSWER:
I don't think it's safe to put this idea anywhere on the net because I don't want it messing with how they may do it. But, I have thought of how they could end the whole Nolan thing with a HUGE BANG, and it doesn't matter what the story is for the third and final chapter. Is there a way to voice a (IMO) genius ending without blowing it for everyone? Anyways, a third film should end with the biggest shock and awe, to leave a foot print in superhero film history that would be embedded deeper than anything, paralyzing all bat-fans. (inhale)

on that note im thinking some kind of an extreme closeup on bats, or maybe bats ascending on a zipline upwards out of the frame

I would like to see MORE of the Batman "mythos" that we love from the comics. I mean:
-The Batcave completed
-Bruce Wayne´s mansion restored
-A new and redesigned Batmobile, maybe?
-Batpod still there
-A new suit

More like "comic", but with Chris Nolan, of course, and his realism.

I think you will get all of these.

Booooo!

Id like to see Joker recasted (I want Nolan/Goyer's story to be told, and they had another movie in mind starring the Joker as the villain)

anyway, I dont know where the location will be, or how this will work, but the scene in Begins where bats flooded arkham, id like to see that redone as a way to defeat the villain. A giant swarm of bats fly in and knock the Joker backwards, sending him falling (to his death? I dunno) just a thought.

Well APPARENTLY the reason Nolan hasn't confirmed he is doing a third yet is because he doesn't know if he'll be able to do it without Heath. Alluding to the Joker originally having a big role in the third untill the unfortunate death of Heath.

I don't think they can bring the Joker back without it feeling like an imitation.

its time to use voodoo magic on Ledger's body.

Bruce and Dick wake up in the same bed as the hot line rings. They jump into the shower together to save time and then dash into the night as Batman and Robin.

Then clearly the third movie is begging for this:

:hehe:

Not sure if Nolan would go for it, but it would keep up with the pattern. :cwink:

That "apparently" was thought up before TDK even came out, LOL.

The interesting thing about the Nolan films is that they're added plausibility/realism makes some of the conventions of the comics/cartoons/previous films seem somehow a little less acceptable--not so much delicious gothic drama as just impactful drama. This is really enhanced by TDK. I loved Begins and its ending so much, and you know what? I actually wouldn't mind a relatively happy ending--if nothing else, some indication that things are really getting better. Some crazy stuff needs to happen first (I love the idea of the crime war between the freaks and the last vestiges of the organized crime/mafia world), and they could, theoretically take more than one film. But the end, I'd appreciate, if nothing else a scene that basically communicates that there's still work to be done, but Batman is willing to fight as long as it takes, and there is hope. I'm sure I'll have more specific thoughts later, but...nah, I wouldn't mind that at all.

I'd like to see something in the same mood as The Dark Knight's ending with that great music and that can make people like really hyper haha Like they feel the same intense feeling Batman's feeling and something that makes them cheer either inside or out.

1) Bruce is at the manor watching Gotham from a long distance and sees the bat signal. Aggressive Expansion when Bruce reaches the batcave. He suits up and drives quickly towards Gotham and the last shot is Batman either on the Batpod or the new batmobile and we see Gotham ahead with the bat signal in the sky. (Yes I know it sounds like a mix of Batman '89 and The Dark Knight's ending lol)

2) Batman is on a rooftop watching the city and the bat signal comes on, he watches the city for a few more final moments then runs on the rooftops and then finally jumps off and opens his cape and the last shot is behind him and we look down on Gotham City below him as he glides off

3) Bruce suits up. We switch to Gotham and Batman saves some random people. Commissioner Gordon arrives and talks to Batman for one last time. He disappears. Batman is on a rooftop watching Gotham. The batsignal turns on for 3 seconds and the movie ends

well, Bruce's plan was to be Batman long enough to allow the good people of Gotham a chance to take back the city. he also planned on marrying rachael. Now that Rachael is out of the picture- what else does he have to look forward to after being Batman?

It seems that his only real motivation and link to a "normal life" is gone.

now what???

YES! I absolutely LOVE THAT ENDING, TDK captured that same feeling.
And THAT IS what I was talking about, something DIFFERENT than the first two films. My idea (IMO) tops BATMAN 89. NO KIDDING

It would be cool that through the film Batman is fighting not only the police, the public, the media, the remnants of the mob, but also new villians "freaks" such as Mad Hatter, penguin, Black Mask, Holiday and so on. Mad Hatter, starts at the beginning of the film holding a group of children hostage so taht they will play Alice and Wonderland with him. Penguin and Black Mask, rival freaks trying to take over the mob, taking territories for themselves and Holiday, Alberto Falcone wanting to start a gang war to take out the freaks by killing henchman on a holiday.

This would lead to the end of the film were Batman has taken up the mantle of guardian of Gotham, with Bruce Wayne disappearing, he's skipped out on an important board meeting leaving Fox in charge of the company from now on. He's had Alfred phone the love interest of the film to tell her he can't see her for a while (much to Alfred reluctance) and we see him talk to Gordon, Gordon is concerned about Batman looking tired Batman disappearing and we cut to the top of the building with Batman crouched on top of a building looking down on Gotham broodingly before flying off to stop crime.

That would be a cool ending, but I'd only want that if this isn't the last in Nolan's series.
