"Plot revolves around a man who learns his ancestors were trained assassins after he is kidnapped by a secret org with ties to the Knights Templar, and sent back in time to retrieve historical artifacts."

If time travel is involved, then it's already been ruined.
I'm chalking it up to the writer of the article's unfamiliarity with the games. Granted, Desmond kinda of does "time-travel" so it isn't off the mark. Though if they do get rid of the DNA-memory, I can only assume that Desmond would take on the role of his ancestor in some way, as opposed to just being Desmond trying to blend in. From a character standpoint, I can see why they might want to go that route - wanting to be able to see Desmond's reactions to the world around him, being our "eyes" and "ears" in that world as opposed to just being a guy who sits in a chair for the whole movie (which would be a waste of the Fass' talent). I would prefer the original way, but would not be up in arms if they chose the more traditional sci-fi time-travel route. It would explain a fundamental flaw in the games' logic: If Desmond is merely reliving (ie: watching) Ezio's memories, how is it that "we" (Desmond) are able to control Ezio? Hell, even the other characters tell Desmond to "do" stuff within Ezio's memories, but if they're just memories, there's NO way for you/Desmond to have any control over Ezio's actions.

This makes me wonder, though...Since both Altiar and Ezio look just like Desmond, will Fassbender play dual roles (if they remain true to the DNA memory of the games)? Or would they get different actors?

dodged a bullet there......:oldrazz:

Heh, yeah, here are some of his thoughts:

On Eagles
"...like those among Men who live by Sharping & Robbing he is generally poor and often very lousy. Besides he is a rank Coward: The little King Bird not bigger than a Sparrow attacks him boldly and drives him out of the District."

On Turkeys
"For the Truth the Turkey is in Comparison a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America... He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage, and would not hesitate to attack a Grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his Farm Yard with a red Coat on."

He also suggested a Rattlesnake, as he thought it "a strong picture of the temper and conduct of America". There's a lengthy letter he wrote explaining why this was a good symbol, and while initially it is out of left field, his observations make a lot of sense, especially for the time.

Franklin was a total crack pot. Love the guy.

This game just keeps getting better and better looking.

It's funny because on the surface, it looks like more of the same, which doesn't really bother me as long as the story is engaging, although I know a lot of people who have grown tired and quit on the series because of this.

But watching the actual game in motion and seeing the subtle yet awesome changes and additions, it looks 10x better and you can tell they really wanted to go a step further. This is sill my pick for GOTY this year.

Looks different enough in gameplay,I love it

New stuff in there: what's this Revolving Knife? And we knew about the Lost Mayan Ruins DLC as a pre-order exclusive, but that Ghost of War DLC mission is new --- a naval mission.

His hidden blade, revolves and detaches becoming his knife that we've seen in videos

http://www.computerandvideogames.co...-3-ps3-to-include-60-mins-exclusive-gameplay/

The PS3 version of Assassin's Creed 3 will include an hour of exclusive gameplay, according to an updated box art image on Amazon UK.

Sony also confirmed during its E3 press conference in June that PS3 exclusive Assassin's Creed 3 DLC will be released at launch in late October.

The platform holder also announced an Assassin's Creed 3 PS3 bundle at E3, which is set to include a special console and a copy of the game.

Continuing the PlayStation love-in, there is of course a PS Vita instalment set for release alongside AC3, Assassin's Creed: Liberation.

I bet the 60 minutes is focused on Connor and Aveline from Liberation meeting and possibly doing a mission together.

That would be cool. I hope they take advantage of the Vita version and having this bridge the gap would be neat

We already know that Connor will meet up with her in Liberation, so her being in ACIII makes some sense. IA that it would be cool if it turns out that way.

Given the similar time frames, will the game’s story have any connection to Assassin’s Creed III?
There is a connection between Liberation and Assassin’s Creed 3, and I can tell you that Aveline and Connor do meet in Liberation, but I can’t go into any further details at the moment.

I hope Liberation gets ported to the PS3 at some point.

Does 360 get *anything* exclusive? :(

Feelin' left out over here

Prob not, it didnt get anything in the previous installments if i recall correctly.

All of these "exclusive" missions and add ons always end up being sub par anyway

I like the added features of "stalking" "stealth positioning" "and pass-through".

I'll agree with what was said above, while it feels like the same game, it's not for very obvious reasons. Really looking forward to this next game.

It really shouldn't or at least not for another 4 years but by then it would be a PSN title for the PS4. Sony is undercutting the Vita by having too many multi platform games that should be exclusive to it especially so early in the life cycle when it needs software to push sales. It would be in their best interest to keep Liberation as a Vita exclusive for the foreseeable future

I only hope it gets ported because the Vita is pretty much doomed.

Holy mother of John Paul Jones. :word:

Looks awesome as hell. Seems like naval combat becomes some sort of minigame at the midpoint of the campaign....i.e., you need to take out a certain number of "prizes" in the Atlantic/Caribbean before moving on to the next story section. And hopefully this will be available in multiplayer, too.....I can easily see the naval warfare becoming the most popular aspect of the game, because this is *really* innovative stuff, and looks exciting as hell. Can't wait!
