I ended up using the 20% off code that came with my PS4 to get the Gold Edition for just about $40 on PSN, and returned my physical copy to Best Buy.
I finally started playing and, coming off of Unity, it's a little hard to adjust to the new control scheme and style. It's very clear Ubisoft was trying to do things different.
With that said, there's a few things, mostly visually, that feel like a downgrade. For starter's.the lighting is very inconsistent. I tried adjusting the brightness settings in game, but the contrast seems horrible at times. The characters are rarely lit properly, so you lose a lot of the detail in their faces mostly, and the models don't seem to look quite as good as they did in Unity. The world can look good at times, but moving it's very off-putting to be on a rooftop and see a bright and beautiful blue sky, only to see it completely white-washed from street level.
I'm still new to the game and I'm sure I'll enjoy it regardless, but as someone who is very attracted to things visually, it seems like a step down from Unity.
