Tenzin moved on with his life. Beifong still has a lot of relationship wounds.
After what Sokka said at Yakone's trial I am starting to suspect that Amon is a Bender. A 'unique' Bender whose ability is the old and lost art of Energy-bending.
Obviously they can do whatever they want. But personally, I feel the season is too short. Everything is happening too quickly. I just don't feel like the show is getting any breathing room. I want them to spend more time exploring these character. I want more time on Korra's training. I want Korra to actually meet Aang and not just see flashbacks. Tarlok got defeated way too easily and his so-called plan wasn't thought out enough. Upsetting the Avatar and getting into a fight with her in the middle of a government building was beyond stupid. And now, more than ever, I feel like this show needed a Zuko-type character. Korra going through the motions is fine and all, but the show really needs a secondary storyline to spice things up a bit. As well as provide enough material to extend the season. On Last Airbender, Aang & Friends were great and all, but Zuko always added more meat to each episodes. And that's something Legend of Korra is lacking.
His flashback also highlighted the fact that the council had 5 members in the past including a non-bender. Why did this change and is it one of the reasons the equalists were able to grow?
Doesn't the council have 5 members now. It appears there is one from each nation including an extra water tribe representative possibly because they are split into two, North and South. There are 2 water tribe members on the council now, well until Tarrlok was exposed.
Its unsure whether the other 3 members of the current council can actually bend since they've just been puppets so far. We see that a non-bender like Sokka can be on it. However, if the rule has changed to only benders than that fits the Equalists claims even more.
No, he didn't. He wanted to rule Republic City as a dictator. How exactly is that having good intentions?Tarrlok did indeed have good intentions...just did things the wrong way.
Or Amon is simply what he says: The Solution.
I was seriously disappointed by this episode.
First, there were a couple of things that had to happen exactly like they did at the exact time they did for Lin's group to find the prison. It was waaay too coincidental for my liking. For example, they just happened to be right next to the secret door when the chi blockers come through the tunnel, and the chi blockers just happen to announce exactly where each train goes.
Then, if Yakone was able to bloodbend the entire courtroom without needing his hands, how come he couldn't do the same when Aang trapped him with earthbending? I wasn't overly thrilled by the lack of explanation of Aang being able to breakthrough his bloodbenging by going to the Avatar state, but I can accept it. But that said, Aang wasn't in the Avatar state when he took away Yakone's bending.
Finally, Amon being able to just casually walk through Tarrlok's bloodbending? GTFO. Two Avatars have been shown not to be able to break free of bloodbending (without the use of the Avatar state), but Amon can do it almost effortlessly? There seriously better be a good explanation for this.
Your first point happens in A LOT of animated series/movies/games. One of my favorites, Batman The Animated Series had quite a few macguffins to just ease the progression of the story. No real reason fretting over it.
The 2nd point? Shock probably. Yakone probably has NEVER had anyone break out of his grip before and when Aang did so with the help of the Avatar State, Yakone pretty much fumbled long enough for Aang to take away his bending.
The last point I agree with and am truly worried/excited to know who/what is Amon. At this point the biggest cop-out they could pull is the truly faceless villain concept, that Amon could be an everyman pushed to the brink and embracing an extremist view of "Equality". The next biggest cop-out would be a "brother" of Tenzin or Tarrlok or Sokka's nephew twice removed...etc etc. While possible...I don't really fancy that story path.
HAhahaha
