The Dark Knight Rises Batman 4?! Discuss!

No. I hate the idea of Dini taking on something non episodic in nature.

100% agreed. He already showed us several times that he can't write long stories. His arkham stories are messy and generic, even the characterization, which is usually his strength, is lacking. Same goes for heart of hush and house of hush. He wouldn't fit at all for a whole screenplay.

On the other hand, I would LOVE to see Grant Morrison write a batmovie. Anyway, I don't think a batwriter will pen the story for the reboot.

Morrison would be great as a consultant for a reboot. He's a house of ideas. Hit and miss though so ideally you'd wan't a level headed director reigning him in and I wouldn't hand him scripot duties either.

I think you're probably right.

Yeah a Superman Returns type of Batman movie would be a mistake on WB's behalf regardless of how much Money SR raked in at the BO.

But WB is showing us through The Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel that they seemed to have learned their lesson with the tragedy that was the Schumacher flicks and Superman Returns.

Even without Nolan I trust we'll get a great reboot.

WB learned their lesson? LMAO. After Batman and Robin, they gave us Catwoman. After Superman Returns they gave us Green Lantern, Jonah Hex, and a Wonder Woman film stuck in development hell. Yeah, WB/DC really handled those characters well, right?

WB is run by clueless apes. The success of Batman in the past decade has been due to Christopher Nolan. Without his involvement, WB has shown they have no idea what they are doing with their superheroes. Superman Returns was not a bad movie by any means, but allowing Bryan Singer to make a sequel to a film series that was already destroyed and screwed up decades ago was a terrible move. The only thing that WB has proven in the past 20 years is that they have CONSISTENTLY screwed up every single superhero film that doesn't have Christopher Nolan's involvement.

Get ready for more masterpieces like Catwoman, Green Lantern, and Jonah Hex.:whatever:

I don't hold out any real hope for the DC films. The writers they having working on Flash, Wonder Woman and Justice League scripts were involved with Green Lantern.

Anne Hathaway deserves Catwoman spin-off, says Christopher Nolan

Christopher Nolan says Anne Hathaway is so good in The Dark Knight Rises that she should get her own spin-off movie.

The Dark Knight Rises
Directors: Christopher Nolan
Cast: Anne Hathaway, Christian Bale, Tom Hardy
More on this film
The British film-maker, whose final Batman instalment arrives on 20 July on both sides of the Atlantic, said Hathaway had got under the skin of the character in a manner that left him genuinely impressed.

"Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character. She's really built it from the ground up, it's just a delight to watch her perform," he told Access Hollywood. "The thing she does in those heels is not to be taken lightly. She's an incredible character and we're very excited to see her and hopefully we'll leave people wanting more."

Asked if that meant he would be interested in taking charge of a future Catwoman movie, Nolan said: "For me, Gotham and these characters, I'm done. I've told our story and I'm moving on [but] I certainly think she deserves it – she's incredible."

Catwoman was at the centre of a reviled standalone 2004 film starring Halle Berry, though the character was radically revised from the one introduced by comic book legend Bob Kane in the first solo Batman comic in 1940. Hathaway, like Michelle Pfeiffer before her in 1992's Batman Returns, plays Selina Kyle; the Berry iteration was named Patience Phillips and had a different backstory.

The Dark Knight Rises completes the trilogy Nolan began in 2005 with origins story Batman Begins and continued in 2008 with The Dark Knight. The third film once again stars Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne, with Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman in supporting roles. New arrivals include Hathaway as Catwoman, Tom Hardy as Bane, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Gotham cop John Blake. The film's events take place eight years after those of The Dark Knight, with Batman emerging from retirement to face a new threat to his beloved city.

Yeah I agree with Nolan I love to see a Catwoman movie. I wish he was the director.

IF TDKR is as big and epic as people claim it is, my worry is this: Where do you go from here? Its gonna get harder and harder but not impossible to make a Batman movie from this point on..

If they need to be more epic, then I think the obvious answer is: Science fiction and the supernatural, or a combination of villains.

Bane, Catwoman and The League of Shadows is a solid threat.

So would be The Riddler, The Penguin and a city of freaks.

Or characters like: Mr. Freeze, Clayface, Man-Bat, etc.

Stories loosely based on ARKHAM ASYLUM or ARKHAM CITY could work. There are a ton of comics stories like Knightfall, No Man's Land, Cataclysm, Contagion, that are all great concepts and can still be mined from, as I don't think TDKR will cover all the elements of them in a single film.

Including Robin would up the ante a bit too.

It helps that they're likely going to reboot, so if the reboot story is "smaller", it can still work well. I'd almost rather see them go for smaller, more character-driven stories.

I just want to start a bandwagon for Brad Bird. Outside of Dark Knight, he's directed the best superhero movie.

I think that he would give us something incredible (no pun intended) that admires Nolan's vision but wants to give us a completely different Batman experience.

I think he could create a world where sidekicks could be accepted and villains ( Riddler , Hugo Strange , Poison Ivy & Harley ) that are as fun as the BTAS version and still hold their tragic figure.

Lol, this Lizard doesn't look believable at all.

And that origin story should stop, yes, but it shows you how much influence Nolan's Batman-approach has.

:o

He made it work though, i didn't mean to make it look like it would be believable in the real-world, but in the Marvel Universe, it worked perfectly for me. I loved Dr.Connors/The Lizard in TASM

*POSSIBLE ENDING SPOILER*

If Blake finds the cave with the BatSuit and throws badge aside, does that mean we'll see Blake as Batman in a future movie?

Do yall believe JGL will be "Robin" or the new "Dark Knight" ?

Im %50 %50 right now
