That source is really trying to spin this as normal. This isn't. There's zero competition.

No, you don't understand. The movie isn't dropping like a brick! The haters are just in denial of it's box office success.

So Disney's $300 into my PayPal account to trash the movie was wasted on their part? Do I have to give it back?

Oh man, I just wandered into the positivity thread. Fear not everyone! Apparently Forbes does not understand how financing works and this movie was paid off before it even hit theaters. :funny:

:lmao:

Box Office Mojo:
'Batman v Superman' Drops 81% On Its Second Friday
Brad Brevet said:
Saturday AM Update: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice takes a massive tumble compared to its opening day last weekend with an estimated $15.35 million Friday. That's an 81% drop from its opening day last Friday, which did include $27.7 million from Thursday previews, but even excluding those numbers you're looking at a 71.5% drop. Rival studios peg the film's second weekend dropping as much as 70%, resulting in a three day weekend around $50 million.

I kind of feel bad for them. It's great they are able to love this mess. I wish I could see what they see that is so redeeming about it.

Anyway, this thing will probably make less than $20M by next weekend, only its third weekend at the US box office. It's lucky it had no real competition this weekend.

BTW:

Henry Cavill is so charming and charismatic in his interviews. You just have to listen to his interviews to know that he could be an amazing Superman/Clark Kent. He just needs to show a little more personality in the role.

I'd bet a few studios are wishing they hadn't given this such a wide berth now. 20/20 hindsight though.

Rth (a user known for having access to early info) over on the Box Office Theory forums says that the Saturday take is heading toward the $20-$21 million range. That's a bit higher than my $19.4 million estimate, but at least I got within ten percent.

I can see it now "WB Damage Control: Delays Justice League, Moves Up Batman Solo".

That's fine with me. Give us 3-4 solid solo films, replace Snyder for JL and I think everything will be forgiven.

This guarantees you wont see a superman movie for years though. Im a little tired of batman frankly.

Ouch again. Might not hit $50 million for the weekend.

They already dug his grave (literally and figuratively) with the ending.

Won't happen again... DC movies will be facing competition for any further release dates... Other studios smell blood in the water... Further proof WB screwed up royally by only focusing on short term box office results...

Superman's second return to the big screen has probably come to an end. It looks like herolee could be right after all.

And if that's the case, no more Henry Cavill...

Yep... All because WB wanted to rush into JL and Snyder couldn't make an adequate film...

I hope the next superman unabashedly shoves the American flag up the villains behinds while reciting the pledge of allegiance.

WB needs to stop trying to throw DH2 and their biggest franchise under the bus to spin this turd.

So I take it everyone who proclaimed this one would be at 700 million after this weekend has left the forum for the weekend?
