Best movie twist ending ever?

unbreakable
sixth sense
fight club.
and of course ''the empire strikes back''.

I say 'Dumb and Dumber.' When you thought Lloyd was
dead but then found out he had on a vest because he was working with the F.B.I., amazing.
LMAO! Agreed, that was funny $*** ...too bad the sequel sucked balls :(

Sorry for triple post

I thought the first mission impossible had a good twist , im not sure it was near the end though.

The Departed......Damn.

it wasn't new at all that twist, since the movie and the dicaprio death is a scene for scene remake of Infernal Affairs.

Even the Martin Sheen death off the rooptop was a scene for scene exact remake.

The only new thing added by Scorcese was that the bad guy dies at the end, ie Matt Damon gets shot in the head by Wahlberg, whereas in the original movie, the Matt Damon character gets away it and the prequel and sequels continue.

Primal Fear, one of my favorite endings of all time.
The Prestige,
Se7en.
Just to name a few.

Yeah.. But in The Departed, the Dicaprio death was a much bigger shock, which is what this thread is about. It came out of nowhere. The scene in Infernal Affairs was really dull and straight forward.

I must add Sleepaway Camp to the list. If you've seen it you know exactly what I'm talking about. That had my jaw drop. Anytime I think of twist endings I think of this.

1) The Empire Strikes Back
2) Se7en
3) Memento
4) The Sixth Sense
5) Unbreakable

Saw and Cloverfield, both films left me in suspence. Saw's ending was unexpected and shocking. Cloverfield left me wondering what could be possible for a next installment.

Was Cloverfield's ending really a twist ending, though?

I guess not... I haven't really seen too many films with a twist ending apart from Saw. But if you want to call something as completely unexpected as the Cloverfield ending a twist ending, I guess that's no problem.

I'd say it was definitely a surprising ending. There was no plot twist, though, so I wouldn't consider it a twist ending.

Dude/Dudette!

Hey do you think:
In the end when he says there never was an Aaron, that he had actaully lost his sh**, & he didn't even know who he was. Because in the beginng they actually had documentation on Aaron. What do you think?

Sucks cause I want to read what every one put, but they might talk about a movie I've already seen :(

The one that really dropped my jaw was Saw. When Jigsaw stood up, I was just shocked. Looking at my friends and going crazy.:wow:

The Prestige ending I thought was pretty good.

Well see then that just brings you right back to "a-hole status".

I don't think so. Cause the person was seeing it with me. Now, had I told them what happend before they started watching the movie, then I achieve a-hole status.

Its not a twist at all. Its not even unexpected.

It tells you at the very beginning the footage was FOUND in Central Park. That means they either died or dropped the camer and ran off. There was nothing unexpected at all.

What movie do you think has the best ending twist? Like an ending that COMPLETLEY knocks you off guard.
I haven't seen them all, but out of all the movies I've seen, I have to give it to SAW. DAMN that one got me.

Arlington road did it for me ... that just messed with my happy side.

Omfg...nuff said dude. NUFF F**king SAID!

:csad:

Empire Strikes Back. I was only 6 years old when it was released, and to this day it's still the biggest cinematic shock moment of my life.

When the opening said that Darth Vader was obsessed with finding Luke Skywalker, I honestly assumed it was because he was still mad at him for blowing up the Death Star.

I'm so glad that movie came out in 1980. The internet would have destroyed all of that ending today.

Suprised The Others hasnt been made mention of, even though I watched it with my girlfriend and really pissed her off by being like " OH SHE AND THE KIDS ARE *****!". Hated me for like the whole night.
