Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds #2: My shop sold out of this really quickly and I missed this last week, so I picked up a copy from the re-order this week. It was good. I didn't want to like the original Legion because I'm more familiar with Waid's, but Johns is doing a good job of making me like them in spite of that. Not too interested in Sodam Yat, but if Johns is setting up a big showdown with the characters Superboy Prime has had major fights with before, I can see how his involvement would be required. An ending that consists of Superman, Sodam Yat, Bart Allen, Conner Kent, and Captain Atom kicking Prime's ass around would be a dream come true, even if I'm mostly indifferent to Yat, but I doubt I'll get to see it given the redemption thing. My only real problem was with Waid's Brainiac at the end. His dialogue makes him sound like some kind of adult-phobic moron, which is a total mischaracterization of what Waid's Legion was about. They're a youth movement trying to reinvigorate future generations after modern society evolved to the point of becoming stagnant. They have more political leanings than the other Legions (or they did under Waid; I don't know what Shooter's doing with them), but they're not adult-hating wackos. In spite of that, though, the Brainiacs' argument at the end was funny and the rest of the book was solid. I'm looking forward to finally seeing who pops out of the lightning rod this time around.
