I stopped buying after Spidey was unmasked.

It ticked me off SO much. The whole secret identity thing is part of the charm to superheroes, for goodness sake!

And now I'm reading stuff about Peter and MJ's marriage ending and Spidey making deals with devils ... I'm not happy.

I've been sticking to Ultimate Spider-Man, and I'm happy about it, because I've been thoroughly enjoying it.

There were people that wanted to boycott during the Ezekiel stuff, which at the time I thought was ridiculous, and still do.

I went into a comic store today and flicked through the Coming Home TPB, JMS' first storyline. Great story. Beautiful artwork. It would probably go down as a classic, if it weren't for the mess that happened later - Sins Past, The Other.

I should have cancelled before The Other.

They (Marvel) lost tons of fans....(numbers prove it) after the clone saga...had 500,000+ before it, to like 120,000 by end of the Clone Saga.
(pretty close estimates last i looked)

I stopped then....and once again i am FORCED to stop again.

And, I've been sticking around because this is my favorite chracter i've been with since the beginning....but retconning everything, bringing (friends) HArry back from the dead....stupid villians saving old ladies and making ex-wives superheros....in exchange for a "marriage" is just the epitome of LAME-O CHEESE SUPREME.

This reality change....opens up many SORTS of cans of worms.

HAs all the marvel universe changed?? How can they change these things and explain the ramifications of other people who knew MJ, Pete (their marriage) and HArry....and any OTHER person that pops up "alive" in BND...?? Continuity is totally WIPED here...with the worst toilet paper imaginable. NO WONDER JMS HAD NO DESIRE TO PUT HIS NAME TO THIS STINKIE.

And don't forget the one interview where JQ had noted that we might see Pete dating GWEN after OMD....and had also mentioned harry.....

Well, history is gonna repeat itself as we lose more fans, who WANT to read Spidey STORIES.....not AGENDAS and EXPERIMENTS.

Hope someone is working on this retcon of the RETCON to fix this. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME....again.

i have no words for what i feel right now. F**K YOU JOE Q!!! this is the most ridiculous crap EVER in spider-man history. i dropped ASM a couple months because i had feeling one more day would lead to something horrible like this.

SERIOUSLY, everyone who is outraged by this should drop ASM. no more of this "oh maybe i'll just read one more issue.." joe q and marvel must suffer consequences for what they have done. i seriously am pissed right now.

The saddest thing is, this is the like the fourth in a sucession of bad ideas Quesada/Stracynski kept at these gimmicky things that didn't seem to belong there at all. They can do all the unmasking/power-changes/costume-changes all they want, but these two guys should never of been let near Spider-man. There's no point to any of it.

They've tried 'fixing' Spider-man. They've fixed him out of relevance. YOu'd pretty have to start over now.

I think if Joey Q never, ever, ever interefered, we'd be looking at JMS at this point in a totally different light. Who knows what he could have accomplished in place of The Other, and if he wrote Sins Past how he wanted it originally.
