Guardians of the Galaxy Bradley Cooper IS Rocket Raccoon

I first read this article a few years ago, and it broke my heart. For all the new fans Rocket Raccoon has gained thanks to the debut of the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY trailer, spare a thought for Bill Mantlo, the writer who created him, and the sad turn his life has taken.

This reminds me of the story of Bill Finger, who created many Batman's iconic villains but died pretty much penniless since he didn't own any of the rights of Batman. It's tragic.

I thought Cooper would try and do some kind of accent but it's basically his normal voice.

Nah, I knew he was going to use his normal voice they would've brought up the accent in interviews.

Sounds just great to my ears!

Maybe it's the screaming, but I don't hear Bradley in the delivery as much as you guys seem to do. Sure, it's no accent and it is mostly his tone in the voice, but he still is delivering something very characterized. It's distinctly cocky and confident without touching on cartoonish.

Yeah. I agree. with only the one line it's hard to say "it's just Bradley Cooper's voice."

Well, that's disappointing. British accent was too much to ask for, but I was cool with the Jack Nicholson impression for the toy.

*SIGH*

I never wanted the British accent myself. Or even a heavy accent at all really. I don't get why that's so important. Delivering a cocky and tough yet cool vibe in the emoting and delivery is more Rocket than any accent in the world. Glad they kept it pretty straightforward.

I like it, rugged and loud.

I don't get the desire for a British (or Aussie) accent, either. It's like people think that would sound cooler, tougher or something. As long as Rocket sounds like a badass it will be fine.

ETA: The CGI artists nailed Rocket's realistic look. Recruiting a real raccoon as a model paid off for the film.

I like bradley cooper and all I can say is thank God he didn't do an accent something tells me that would be a trainwreck.

Thank jebus he's not doing a "voice". So relieved.

edit: lol beat me to it BETA

edit: and i also hear a touch of DeVito in the performance. Which works beautifully actually.

The irony is if Cooper did try and put on some accent you'd say it sounded like **** more than likely. He just sounds like a street thug, basically.
