I think Hemsworth could be replaced as Thor without much trouble if Hemsworth really wanted out. Tom Hiddleston's Loki is the character everyone wants to see anyway. Thor's become a secondary character in those films.

I don't think so. Hemsworth embodies Thor very well. But the character hasn't been done justice by the writers or directors yet.

Avengers had 3 weekends at #1. All other MCU films had 2 weekends except for Cap1 and TIH which each only had 1 weekend at #1.

Hope it manages to come in second/third this week. HIFR is having a great run, but we'll see if it manages to overcome the weekend bumps that Cap's been getting.

How likely will it pass TDW's numbers after the weekend?

WW Total: $610,340,216 not including Intl'l Thur #s. So WW total is probably closer to $614 or $615m. That's almost $30m WW during Mon-Thu even if it's raised a bit from Easter Mon that's a very good hold off a $60.9m WW w/e. If it makes only that much over the w/e (a 50% drop from last w/e) with the Spiderman expansion it will pass TDW.

So odds are pretty good.

I really hope it manages to crawl to $700 million. I can just see it landing on $695 million and just staying there.

It's funny, looking back at my pre-release prediction:

Domestic OW: $95-110M
Domestic Total: $280M-310M
Overseas Total: $350-400M
Total: $630-710M

It would seem I grossly overestimated this film's domestic power, yet grossly underestimated its international power, so worldwide it's still gonna land right where I thought it would.
