Chapter 48 - "A Clear and Present Danger" - Discussion Thread 2/2/09

Peter has seen Mohinder use super strentgh. It occurred at somepoint during the first season don't remember thye exact episode.

Best ep in a while. Excited for the rest of the volume.

Not without its flaws, but better than just about every episode in the Villains arc. I'm just hoping it stays on track, instead of veering off into some stupid direction.

This episode had me up off my chair
it was a good one

am I the only one who though Claire was running out on to the runway to throw herself into the propeller like a wayward goose and stop the plane from taking off?

I can't wait for next week!!!

Not gonna lie... I definately did think that?

I thought she was going to jump into the propellers as well. lol

During the begining of the episode (right before Tracey got caught) there was a scene of her undressing (sort of). You could see her reflection in the mirror. Anyway, did anyone else think that they were going to see the return of Niki. I know I did and I'm glad that didn't happen.

Loved the Sylar/hunters fight. He actually used more than one power this time.

If this was last season, we probably would have.

He couldn't fly because he didn't have the ability anymore. Seems like he can't stockpile powers anymore, and has to get them through touching people.
My thought is, only because it hasn't been proven yet, are as follows:

1. Peter can still stock pile powers.

2. He didn't fly on the outside of the plane because he is such a noble guy that he tried to save in from the inside. What can he do on the outside? He wouldn't be able to save anyone and Peter is a Hero, he wants to save people.

3. I like the fact he has to touch people for powers now. His collecting powers just by being around them, if he had that still, he would have overloaded on that plane full of powered people and just blacked out. Now, he actually has more control of his powers, and which one he gets.

Trying to figure this show out is silly now.

Someone make some abridged episodes please. I just want to know what happened and see the cool parts.

GL1 you should just solely post in the Gripes threads, cuz that's all you got! lol...
I still don't get why you watch a show you hate so much....??

I'm not 100% positive. But I just watched the ending again. Once Peter touches Tracy, he goes to punch the guard and the guard just takes the punch and comes at him. If he had still had his super strength then the guard would likely have gone down. I think he looses his previous power once he gains another one.

I think that this was a rumor I heard a while ago, but wasn't there supposed to be some Powered People on the Government's side? Like, Nathan give Peter a chance, so, maybe they used the serum to give strength to some of their agents?

...wasn't there supposed to be some Powered People on the Government's side?

They sort of have to. One thing the government is known for, is stacking the odds massively in its favor, and the only way they truly can do that in this situation is to have some powered people loyal to their side.

Also, in the possible future where powered people were hunted (elaborated more in the comics), there were powered people serving the government.

I'm watching on Hulu right now. Amazing, they couldn't even keep Sylar benched for ten minutes.

I'm almost positive the government HAS to have some post-human traitors among them.

Matt and the Haitian were working for the government in the Five Years Gone episode from season one. I'm sure they have some specials working for them.

Oh jeez...could Parkman's story be any stupider? Suddenly he is a seer?

I would love for Parkman and Tracy to die in a horrible joint death

It was a decent episode, defintitely not fully back on board yet. Sure all the company stuff is gone, but it's just been replaced by the government. Like that Peter has been depowered a bit because he was obviously becoming too powerful. Don't understand why Nathan wanted to keep Claire "safe" from his goon squad, since she was the only person that seemed to not be trying to keep a low profile. Well her and Daphne, interesting that everyone determined to stop or unable to use their powers is captured, but the ones still using their powers aren't.

Also, someone needs to inject some energy into the music, the action scenes were killed by the incredibly boring music.

Could we please avoid the stupid "HEROES ROXXXXOORD! STOP HATIN" attitude?

I have definately had enough from both corners honestly. I don't know who is worse anymore...the people that think every episode sucks yet keep watching so they can come online and complain or the people that think every episode is completly flawless and should be praised as the end all be all in television. If we could do without both of those on these threads during this season...well that'd just be super.

I feel like I can already predict where this whole damn season is going to go (especially in regards to Claire. Really, can that girl just have one damn season where she is not at odds with her parents for doing something unethical towards people with powers? If that is the only plot they can think up for her, kill her off).

Who gives a ****? If you don't like what someone is saying, don't read it. It is really that simple. People can complain about this show or praise it until they are blue in the face on this board so long as they aren't insulting others in the process.

Agreed.
