Chapter 48 - "A Clear and Present Danger" - Discussion Thread 2/2/09

Well, I agree with that but at the same time it's stupid to nitpick or to ignore huge problems just for the sake of argument

He couldn't fly because he didn't have the ability anymore. Seems like he can't stockpile powers anymore, and has to get them through touching people.
We don't know that yet and I doubt Peter knows it either.

I think he's figured it out because he tried grabbin suresh's hand so he could get his strength... at least it seemed intentional

He dove at Nathan last episode and flew out the window with him. If he knew he had to touch Nathan's skin and it took a second to absorb powers as we saw last night then Nathan and Peter would have died in the explosion:o

i doubt he knew it at that point... that might've just been luck. it's all just writers trying to get us to figure out things is all

Or it is the writers trying to figure out what the hell they're doing.

I think its obvious that Peter can only have one power at a time and only through touch. This is a great improvement as it will prevent him from becoming over powered and boring.

Why the **** is Sylar back? He has reached the point where his is less interesting than Hiro and Ando. Sylar needs to die permanently or at least be gone for an entire volume before making a triumphant return.

Peter is by far my Fav... I haven't found him boring :csad:

"Serious talking Claire" needs to go, that whole conversation with Angela was laughable. Other than that it was a good episode and light years better than most episodes in the "villians" chapter. I want Peter to have his old power back simply because somebody needs to be as strong as Sylar if they aren't going to handicap him

Anyone notice when the African dude (totally forgot his name) was talking to Parkman his stick was over his neck then by his side then round his neck then by his side, i was thinking wow continuity problems or what!

I think he just got underused in some parts of the series just because he would of been the cure-all with all of his powers. He is too one of my favorites.

I noticed that and I dont think it was continuity problems. I think it was just filmed weird because the African dude is a vision. Every time it was a close up his stick was on his back and when they changed angles the stick was in front of him. It was pretty consistent so I think it was just trippy filming.

All they have to do is restart Sylers powers LOL. Make him limited some how. Have him only be able to use one power. Than people won't complaine that we have two God like characters. FYI I don't find Peter boring either he's my favorite, they just need to make him think a little more when huging people :oldrazz: Hopefully this will be the last time that happens LOL. Maybe having one power will help him, but I want him to be able to keep his other powers two so he can use that one power when he needs it. Hopefully all he needs to do is train a bit more with his new type of power.

I seriously think we may finally be at just below Season one in quality again. I just go to watch it and it was awesome! I think the reason Peter switched from Strength to Ice was cause he didnt know how to use the strength just yet, same with Ice. I would like his powers to be the same because he is kinda like the parallel to Sylar, in that he has no idea how to use a power once he has attained it unconditionally. Then as for Sylar he purposefully attains an abilitiy so that he can use it perfectly. That was a Dynamic from Season one that I thought was amazing! I remember him not knowing how to use Teds power at all once he aquired it.

It isn't obvious because why would the serum give someone else a different power and that power act totally different between two episodes:huh: It also isn't a great improvement because that just makes Sylar more omnipotent and no one will ever defeat him. Sylar is the antithesis of Peter but not now I guess:o

After reading this I just said YES I AGREE:woot:

When I saw him touch Mohinder and then Tracey, Nikki, or whatever she goes by these days, the first thing that came to mind was that he now has the same powers his father did but of course, being Peter, he doesn't know how to fully utilize them yet.

That would be an interesting take but at the same time would be kinda redundant, why not just let him keep his old powers? Giving him his fathers would make no sense, then Tracy and Suresh would have no powers now.

they should have just kept Issac if they wanted to show the painting power. It seems like anyone can do that power now...

Totally agree with this. I think they only realized how important this aspect would be after they had Sylar kill him off. Shame too, cause Issac was a likable character.

I really hope Peter can only have one ability at a time this season. He was nearly god-like with practically every power under the sun.

Plus, Sylar's not interesting anymore because he's virtually invincible. Seriously, a whole room full of elite agents with tazer-dart shotguns couldn't touch him. Sylar took 3 darts to the chest and shrugged.

To writers: Invincible characters are not interesting!

Good episode. Definitely better than that Villains crap. The only thing i really didn't like was Matt painting the future. What was up with Peter's power by the way?

I loved this episode. The only thing I didnt really like was Sylar is still uber god who cant be defeated. There is no reason as to why he shouldnt have gone done just like everyone else did. He shouldnt have been able to fight that much longer after he was shot so many times.

And I PRAY that they dont have Peter stockpile powers again and just keep it to borrowing the powers through touch. One power at a time, and when he absorbs another one the first one dissapears.

I think made Peter and Sylar both far too powerful. Hopefully now they'll scale it back for both characters.

I frighin loved this episode! It's returning to form.
