Chapter 48 - "A Clear and Present Danger" - Discussion Thread 2/2/09

He didn't have to touch Nathan to get flight but he had to touch Mohinder and Traci.....please Fuller do something!!!

I'm a little bit confused. When he touched Tracy, did he loose Suresh's super strength? Or did the soldier just get the upper hand THAT much

Why didn't Peter just fly outside the plane? And I guess one of the mysterious passengers is going to be a bad guy.

I didn't see him touch Traci. So he must have his own empathic ability, plus Arthur's.

Yah I am a little confused about how he could fly at the last episode, course he was touching Nathan two I guess. I am guessing the soldier guy just got better prepared is all. But I love the fact that he has Traceys powers now, sweet.

edit;

It'd make more sense for Peter to have both his ability and Arthurs, maybe his powers didn't leave him like we thought. They could have just been drained from him for a while. He just needs to get better at them is all.

I'm assuming he only has the abilities on a touch by touch basis? So if he absorbs one, he loses the other one?

So Peter can only have one power at a time now?

Man I hope not, talk about limiting Peter to be cool. When his new version of the power I thought wow we now have a male version of Rogue (Xmen).

That's what I'm thinking.

And he did touch her. He accidently brushed against her hand

When the soldier knocked him in the face he fell into Tracy and touched her hands.

Well, that and it seems like he looses the power he had previously as soon as he touches someone else. Otherwise, wouldn't he be able to fly out of the plane and/or not get his ass handed to him by that soldier after he touched Tracy?

Good episode i really loved the last 20 minutes of it. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Its funny though, alot of the people who dont watch the show anymore one of there complaints was that peter was too over powered and he should only be able to copy one power at a time and it looks like now thats the case and it sucks.

Alright. This episode didn't suck... but it didn't get me excited for the rest of the volume... and there was no "oh s--t" moments that came out of the story.

Ways it could have been better:
-No Sylar, especially when they have the scene that tells us, "Yes, we're never stopping the all powerful God-Sylar!"
-Someone dying while fighting back against the hunters... what way to say this time it actually matters cause we're killing people than that
-Tracey... once her power was given to Pete... she could have been the one sucked out the plane for that death to actually be important
-No more mystical painter, he died. And this show isn't Lost.
-No Matt having more powers... I like the character, but come on... power jumping sucks

Ways it was better:
-Claire didn't completely suck!
-Peter was cool again! And he was back to the guy that wanted to help and wasn't ******ed!
-the Hunter was a good casting choice
-Hiro/Ando hilarious as usual (allowable at the start of the volume)
-Matt and Daphne trying to live under the radar
-HRG working for the Hunter and Nathan
-Nathan is a pretty good bad guy... well, sans formula plot

EDIT- And if Peter can only have one power at a time... f--k Heroes. F--k Heroes hard.

does peter have to touch to take powers now?

Sylar was definately one of the best parts of this show hopefully he'll play a big part in taking down nathans operation.

I think he just needs to learn to control his powers more. This is prob just Arthurs ability, it prob just kicked in him some how.

Peter didn't touch Nathan in the last episode until he grabbed him and flew out with him after injecting himself:o

Looks like Heroes crashed on Oceanic Flight 815

Peter- We have to go back!

I would say it more resembled Final Destination:o

Yep, Peter didn't fly in the last episode of Vol. 3 until he touched Nathan.
