Chapter 63 - Acceptance - 10/5/09

Sylar is back does not equal show is good again at all.

Can't you people see the show's reliance on a character who has overstayed his welcome many many times is the reason it's going to get cancelled this year and has not been good since season 1?

Its pretty obvious that the shows going to end this season, its not that big of a deal but its definately not sylars fault. The show has had a decent run but yah none of the other seasons matched the first season. I say enjoy it while it lasts.:yay:

And the reason being is they tried to focus the show on Sylar starting with season 2, when he should have stayed dead.

So yes, Sylar is at fault for a majority of the way the show went.

Anyone find this episode a chore to watch? I was bored out of my mind. Hiro was my favorite character at the start of this show, and now I can't help but want him to die a quick death in order to stop seeing his character staying as season 1 hiro and not evolving as a character. In fact I'd like to see any character evolve. So far everyone just gets reset to season 1 every year. Its like the X-files every episode.

Sylar is one of the better characters, it makes sense that they would want to flesh him out and focus on him a little more. Season 2 had a lot of problems but sylar wasnt one of them. (though it did suck seeing him without powers.):yay:

Except he has not been fleshed at all. He's still the same Sylar, the moment he gets development they do the same thing and go back to season 1 "I'm gonna kill you all." Sylar.

This should could have been saved if:

- Sylar was only in season 1
- Season 2 had moved forward with a new threat, development for the characters, and no going backwards.

Sylar and going backwards is the reason this show died an early death.

Robert Kneper touched Peter and Peter did not get his power.

Peter can control when he absorbs abilities. In Volume 4, He flew with Matt and did not absorb his powers and he touched Nathan and didn't absorb his powers until the last second when he made his escape. When he absorbed Sylar's powers, he "chose" to absorb his shape-shifting ability. The only time he could not control his absorbing powers was in the beginning and that was likely because it was new to him. There was no reason for Peter to assume Samuerl had a power, nor would he have been willing to lose his speed power that he needed to save people.

This episode was mediocre. Kind of disappointing after last week's. I think it's mainly because last week's focused on the few interesting story arcs this season has (Peter, Samuel, Matt and the Sylar within) while this week has everyone else's. The only story arc that really interested me is Sylar's. I agree Sylar has really brought this show down and that he should have died in Season 1, but I am interested in this story arc since he still believes he is Nathan. I wonder if how this will affect his character.

Meh not really surprised that Sylar is "back". Don't know why anyone else is. Technically he's been back since the beginning so um..... I'm intrigued by all the other storylines. Still not sure about Hiro's though.

Yah but "I'm gonna kill you all." Sylar is the real Sylar doesnt matter what happens to someone there not going to change who they truelly are. When it comes down to it the show would fail in every aspect if it actually tried to make Sylar a good guy permanently.

Like I said, every character gets reset to season 1 status. Gets so annoying.

The reason why the characters keep getting reset to season 1 is because the fans bi**ed and moaned so much about season 2 sucking that their now to afraid to change the characters from season 1.

Frankly, you have a Heath Ledger Joker (Fantastic performance but sooo vastily overrated) avatar and I would expect something like that to come from you.

The show failed because they kept Sylar and kept going backwards with not only with him, but everyone else.

Like I said Sylar should have never been on the show past season 1 and you've instantly got a little bit better of a show.

I'm sorry ...but off topic....how about this season we don't result to trying to insult and belittle people to get out point across. I'm so tired of the "I think this sucks and so should you attitude"

Dont judge a man by his avatar, i havent been on here in a while and i just havent got around to changing it.

Sylar has been the only really good villian in the show, hes a psycho who wants to have all the power in the world. He shouldve disappeared through season 2 and then came a little in 3 and then the final enemy in the last season where all the heroes finally joined up to beat him up.

You must be new to this board. :o

But it makes sense.

I thought Sylar coming back would of been a bigger deal than this , it's just kind of odd the way it was done.

They definately gave him to much screentime though. It's like he is the Hero , which almost happened at one point..

Someone hasn't seen Zombieland:awesome:

Poor Ghostbuster :( But that scene was ****ing funny when they started acting out scenes from the Ghostbusters movies. Woody should have worn that Ghostbusters outfit during the rest of the movie

Not at all. It's the fact that I'm too much that I see it everywhere. I have no problem with an argument for either side. But if people would just agree to disagree before starting their argument things would go so much smoother. I don't care how right you may think you are or how right I think I may be we are not gonna change each others viewpoints. So calling people asinine names and throwing useless insults gets not where.

Anywhere rant over. Apologies for minor derailment. There was train traffice ahead of us.

Hello, Adam Munroe would like to speak with you, if he weren't turned into ashes to pave way from Craptastic Arthur Petrelli and the return of Sylar part 3.

Not to mention every good new character seems to die to make way for Sylar or add to his body count. The only exception being Daphne from last season.

Yeah and Emma Stone voice sounded just like Janine.

I really hope you dont actually think Adam Munroe was a good character? He was just a man who couldnt die and met hiro in feudal japan to have some hijinks. Which was the worst part of that season. Adam Munroe never had any real promise, he was another "immortal" character that couldnt really do anything.

Anyone else think that at least one or two of them should have come out in the public and actually been a "hero"? Then maybe there could have been a duality or a team by now and some actual Villains. They should have had new baddies put in the facility one at a time and every once in a while they either broke out or new ones would show up. Also, mob lords and crime syndicates and leagues of assassins could have also been explored. Maybe some heroes that are mostly active in the day and some mostly in the night. I'm just saying that it feels like they tried to re-use the season one formula over and over instead of pushing the potential a little further forward.

I would of liked to see the downfall of a hero. Someone that starts out trying to save people but accidently kills an innocent person. This leads to his eventual turn as a villain and their tragic demise..

Adam Munroe was the only thing I really liked about Season 2. His threat wasn't from his power but from his mind and he got the most character development from that season aside from Hiro before it was all basically forgotten about by Season 3. Adam was a good character.

I also liked Linderman but he died way too early as well. Danko was also relatively interesting but he lost steam as a character by the end of Volume 4. Sylar lost steam after Season 1 though. He hasn't been a good character since then. He was pointless in Season 2 and was horribly written in Volume 3. He was okay in Volume 4 but I really didn't care that much about his character by that point.

Exactly, Linderman, Adam Munroe, hell even Danko were great villains, but they all were pushed aside to make ''The Sylar Show starring those other guys."

This show creates interesting promising new characters like those guys, Elle, Daphne, and then just tosses them to the side to reuse Peter, Claire, HRG, and Sylar again.

ugh! i HATED fuedal japan soooooooooooooooooo much! i think if all of that had been cut out of Season 2 it would have been watchable!
