The Mandalorian Chapter Fifteen Spoiler Discussion

Also, for repeat value.

I literally got goosebumps and shouted "F*** yes!" when this happened. So good!!!

I also love that this episode basically featured a Bill Burr rant and sort of a Clerks-like deconstruction of Star Wars, but in universe. It could've come off too self-aware, but I think it worked really well. Glad Bill got a moment to shine here.

Also, his character kind of had a bit of an inverse-DJ from TLJ arc here. Definitely hitting a lot of similar beats in his conversation with Mando.

All in all another fantastic episode. Also, proof that the show can still be great without cutting to Baby Yoda being adorable every 10 seconds.

Fun episode, everything that made Mayfield's character annoying (meta anti-fan insertion with a smart mouth), was actually all a great asset this ep, and got them out of a heap. Well played.
He also called out the Mando for everything the audience was thinking about not just the helmet rules, but who gets to live and die.
Where the lines are drawn and when you justify crossing your own.

Oh and reworking of the Slave 1 interior was great to see too!

Also having Djarin sans-Mando gear, and run out of amo, they went out of their way, to showcase how well Djarin already handles a bow-staff/spear type weapons.
So we know he's prepped, for when he comes up against the Darksaber, and delivers with the Beskar spear.

Loved the recorded message challenge to Gideon.

The seismic charges being launched and set off made me mark the **** out. Having all of the sound being sucked out and then culminating in that familiar explosive sound was just..chef’s kiss.

Even as someone who does not like AOTC, there are certain moments and elements in that film I do really like. That is one of them. Credit where credit is due, that is some excellent sound design.

I thought this was a great episode and really redeemed Mayfield as a character. I thought he had no code or morals after the first season but this episode shows that he does indeed.

It was great getting Mando out of the armour and helmetless also, and no baby Groda was a surprise but it worked out well.

Then, towards the end of the episode I was thinking, man I hope we get some Slave 1 action, then I saw the Tie Fighters chasing and thought, yes we are getting some, I wonder if the ship still has those awesome seismic charges from AOTC? Well yes it ****ing does! I literally cheered in my own home at that point, amazing stuff.

Hope Rick is doing the finale as his episodes are just awesome.

I really like the morally grey elements of the star wars universe so I enjoyed Mayfield's outlook. Some folks are just trying to survive in a harsh universe which means making difficult choices.

I liked that in rogue one as well. Not everyone is cut and dry good or evil.

Yea I liked that about Rogue One. It acknowledges the Resistance doing shady stuff for the greater good, and Krennic might have been a ****ty human but he felt like....a human, this mid level ambitious but insecure administrator whose obsession with getting ahead has put him out on thin ice.

Another good episode.
Cleaned up Boba Feet (as if The Force took out his belly and restored his armor :p ) and cleaned up Slave I.
More Imperial goodness.
Mayfield guy's backstory integrated nicely.
His FACE !
And the holo threat at the end......haaaaa

Boba dropping the seismic charge had me like...

But my thirst for the seismic charges hasn't yet been quenched. I want him to drop even more of them in the finale next week!

He was also the OG (and scarier looking) Night King from GOT.

As much as I don't like the PT...I must admit, I remembered this scene and it came to mind while watching this episode.

So Mayfeld says that you need to scan your face in order to use the machine, so I'm thinking it compares your face with some kind of database to make sure the user is authorised to use it. Mando walks over there and uses and I'm like "Are we gonna find out he used to work for the empire?", but he just scans his face and that's that?

Other than that, really fun episode. The moving inners of Slave 1 looked cool, I can't remember exactly how the inside has been depicted before in the EU.

Do we know the species of those “pirates/Rebels” in this episode?

Really enjoyed this eisode. Mayfield's arc felt a bit predictable, but I had already pegged this as a bonding episode once they got him out and into the transport. Then he began droppoing hints and I felt it was obvious what was going to happen in the mess hall.

I was quite surprised to see Mando not only take off his helmet to be scanned by the terminal, but to also been seen by Mayfield and the imperial officer. That seems like a point of no return for Djarin and his Mandalorian sect's beliefs, not to mention it says more about his feelings for Grogu than arguably the end of episode challange to Tarkin does.

I liked that Boba Fett cleaned up his armour too. It seems the robe and armour combo is less of an accidental visual resemblance to arc clone troopers and more of an intentional nod.

It was also nice to see Mando working with a whole team. I though Gina Carano and Bill Burr were grwat this episode, the more I see of Cara Dune the more interested I am in her rumoured spin-off. Maybe Mayfield could be a recurring character there too? I still want Ming-na's Fennec Shand to be Boba's right hand on his rumoured show too.

This episode got better as it went on. Mayfield’s redemption was done well. Not quite on the level of the 4 prior episodes. It’s awesome having Boba as your personal pilot lol, and that seismic charge makes one of the best noises (like Jango’s ones). Also love seeing both the Mando and Boba mask in the same shot. Was funny seeing Mando getting Stormtrooper salutes and Valin Hess was a slimy ******* in a good way. Can’t believe next Friday is the end. :csad:

Next week is when you cancel your D+ sub and hop on over to Amazon Prime and continue with the space adventures :cwink:

The things Mayfeld said to Mando when they were on the transport stood out a lot for me. Especially about the people in their respective planets not wanting to have to do anything with the Empire or Rebels, that both were the same to them and they just want to be left in peace. Goes to show the Rebels aren’t really as good as many of us have thought. This is something I am really looking forward to see them expand on more in Cassian’s series and Rangers of the New Republic

Expanse season 5 yo :D
Ohh, yeah I’ve heard good things about that but haven’t started it yet. Was finishing The Boys. Thanks for the reminder. I also forgot about Clone Wars season 7 so that first. :cwink:

I am finishing up Rebels as we speak (Season 3 finale right now), and then I will hop on the last CW season.
Quality!

Luckily I can keep both (for now).

The upcoming HBO Max infusion of material, is gona' have me shuffling though.

Yeah the only constant for me is Netflix. All the others I shift around whenever something new drops.

I watched everything else a long time ago but just forgot about Clone Wars season 7 after getting really busy for a few months.

Im keeping Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney +. Prime (for its other benefits) and Disney + I’d keep even if there were no more new content so Netflix is in the weaker position and probably mainly there because it was first. Cable is also on the chopping block but I use that for sport so it’s not an easy decision either.
