Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Chloe Bennet IS Skye

I thought that Skye might end up being Jessica Drew given her potential to be a double/triple agent. And the fact that Drew's own history is way too convoluted to explain. A whole new incarnation of Drew, but with each passing episode I doubt it. Just thought I'd throw it out there

She'd be a terrible version of Jessica Drew if she were. That would be destroying the character completely just to use a name that is familiar in the comics. She really doesn't have anything in common with Jessica.

Isn't that the truth. Right now, I can't stand the character. She's the worst thing on the show. This week, the plot paused from her slow build of sexual tension with her future boyfriend to deal with her former boyfriend issues (look...look...bra and panties....whooo:doh:) just like in high school! And what's on the menu for the future? The outsider girl is on a quest to find her long-lost parents.

It's just so touching.

This character needs a major new direction, and less screen time until they can figure out something to do with her other than running in a wet dress.

Why do you hate hotness so much? You're just a MARVEL hater, that hates boobs. :o

Agreed. The Jessica Drew comparison comes up a lot, but beyond "double agent working for SHIELD," there's nothing there at all. And despite fandom's hope for Rising Tide to be some sinister organization like HYDRA, last week's episode again shows them to still be nothing more than a completely unorganized hacktivist social club.

Yes, the highly evolved spider thing is crucial to Jessica's origin in the MCU.:o

Seriously, though, who's got the title of most retconned origin in the Marvel Universe right now? Is Origin II giving Wolvie back the championship belt?

And of course, I mentioned that in the sentence you quoted, because you could pick all that out and infer it no doubt. That's exactly what I meant when I said she really has nothing in common with comic Jessica Drew. :o

First and foremost, I think Agents of SHIELD is focusing on non-powered people, so I'd be surprised if Skye has superpowers. That said, it's really fun to speculate! :-D

So... while I really kinda liked the Skye as Jessica Drew theory, now I have another idea. It's kinda wild, and I'm not sure I completely buy it, but here it is:

1) Skye might be Reina's daughter (sky... rain?). Age-wise, they'd be around mid-20's and mid-40's respectively.
2) Reina might also be AIM's Scientist Supreme, Monica Rappaccini.
3) Either of these is possible alone. But taken together, they would indicate Skye is Carmilla Black.

Interesting theory. I like it better than the Jessica Drew theory because it makes more sense for Skye's redacted records to relate to a villainous parent(s) that SHIELD wanted to separate her from. If she starts growing scales and injecting venom into people we'll know that you're onto something.

Not entirely out of the question, but it's still, as you say, kinda wild....I just didn't get the impression that Raina was a scientist of any sort, but rather a recruiter/"talent scout" for Centipede/whatever organization. Her role seems to be to lure unsuspecting marks to become lab rats. The other chick --- the one that got fried by "Scorch" --- was the scientist at that lab.

I know exactly why Skye erased her past...

Can't blame her. I would do the same.

I've wondered if Skye is Mantis, the "Celestial Madonna." We know Mantis is half-German and half-Vietnamese. "Skye" and "Celestial" are kind of connected.

I've been hoping for Libra (Mantis' father) to show up as a bad guy. He has a whole "bad Daredevil" thing going. Him being Skye's father would be an interesting hook.

Well Skye being Jessica Jones is out.

It makes it unlikely but not out of the question. They could still make that reveal and transition Skye off of AOS and into the Netflix show. The question is do they believe Bennett can carry a whole season. Most here would say no, but I'm not sure I would agree.

I'm guessing skye is may and coulson's love child.

Coulson and May had a rather intimate moment where she examined his scar.

May was also awfully emotional about skye's inquiries about her parentage.

Already mentioned a few weeks ago

But TBH, I'm hoping it won't be the case

Ah, ok. It seems the most likely explanation.

Chloe B is half asian, coulson's white, may is asian, skye is ferreted out at the height of her hacking powers, coulson and may are touchy feely, may is way too emotional about skye's search, she was about to spill the beans before catching herself....

It seems almost like a foregone conclusion.

So that would mean that Skye is the love child of Coulson and May, where the latter is having a physical relationship with Coulson's subordinate who also happens to be the guy that Skye has the hots for.

That seems more CW-based drama than anything else.

I don't think may is having a relationship with ward, if that's what you mean. Skye and Ward will clearly hook up at some point.

May and Ward are pretty much pulling the "friends...or eh...Agents with benefits" routine. It's pretty obvious that they've been sleeping with each other for quite some time already so it would be even more awkward if it turns out that May is Skye's mom and that she ends up getting involved with Ward afterwards.

Are you referring to their sparring scene as evidence? Did they say anything that alludes to a relationship either past or ongoing?

I tend not to pay attention when May is talking; she's so emotionally flat she borders on the catatonic. Quite possibly the least interesting character of the bunch.

edit: if the writers are going in that direction, it seems like a sloppy add-on to the current build up of pairing ward and skye. The ward skye relationship doesn't seem very interesting, but ward may is just completely out of left field, assuming that there is dialogue pointing in that direction (I didn't notice anything that would point in that direction).

Sorry to ask, but did you not see the last two episodes for the show? One of the previous episodes opens up that pretty much confirms that they're sleeping with each other.
