Thor and Blake have never been similar in size though
I was just about to say, isn't Blake supposed to be a thinner, leaner, more average looking guy than big, rugged, muscle bound Thor? We're talking about a full on physical transformation here, like He-Man/Prince Adam or Captain Marvel/Billy Batson or even Hulk/Bruce Banner, this isn't Superman/Clark Kent here.Thor and Blake have never been similar in size though
Well, I was referring more to the 1990 "New Adventures" and 2002 He-Man series where Adam actually did look different from He-Man - younger, shorter, thinner, etc.Prince Adam looked identical to He-Man in the original cartoon, but I get your meaning.![]()

Well, I wouldnt exactly say that he's HUGE per se, and for me, it's not just a WWE thing either (cant stand it personally) - fans just want the live action version of their favourite characters to be as bang-on visually as they can be.
You may as well aportion some of the blame about fans size expectancy on the comic book artists who over the years who have drawn these characters with builds only seen this side of a body-builder or wrestler.
You're right though - no-one should be laying unfair expectations on the guy, but I would expect him to get in good shape for the role. I mean, I've just posted a picture of Chris Carmack in the Captain America casting thread;

Now that is an acheivable (and acceptable) build that I think would be awesome if Hemsworth was able to get close to (or maybe even bigger) as opposed to the unrealistic 'Mr Olympia' size that some unfairly expect him to attain.
Don't listen to Colossal Spoons, clearly he watches too much roid infested WWE to know what a real athletic physique looks like.
Seriously look at the size of the guy. He's very big already:

I'd personally like Hemsworth to be huge and ripped. He's the norse god of thunder, slayer of frost giants and trolls.
Chris Carmack looks more like Thor than Cap, imo. Of course, I also think Chris Hemsworth looks more like Cap than Thor.
A very silly person that's who.I always found it hilarious that in the original show, Prince Adam was literally He-Man in a pink shirt. Who the hell designed that?![]()

I'd never even heard of Carmack until this thread. What's wrong with his voice?
Gary Chalk as the voice of Captain America? Hmm... interesting, especially since they always seem to lean towards casting lighter voiced actors for Cap. I myself have to admit I sometimes imagine Cap sounding like either Tim Daly or George Newbern, maybe Kyle MacLachlan (former Superman voice actors).Yeah, I guess his voice is a little high. I always think of Cap with Gary Chalk's voice when I read his comics.
Hmm... good point. And then they turned him into a samurai chicken in 'Beast Machines'.I don't think it was a problem. What was his character outside of that? The fairly standard, stalwart Superman type.

THOR should be ripped and huge!!! He is the muscle of the avengers and a frickin god!!!
I just saw the new A Perfect Getaway trailer and Hemsworth looks pretty damn big and ripped already. He sure as hell won't have to do much to get to Thor size.
