Chris Hemsworth is Thor

well we got those pictures of chris posted a few days ago from recent filming of red dawn from the last few weeks. He is big.

ya, he's about as big (if not bigger) then I would expect any actor to get for a role
(he does have the rest of his career to think of as well, not every role requires a bodybuilder size)

Chris Hemworth is completely not buff enough.. He has to be shredded and HUGE to be Thor... he looks big but in a tom welling/frat boy way, does not look like a Norse God at all... are they going to use a fatsuit for him like they are for Ray Stevenson?

You're not going to get a Thor that looks how he's drawn in the comics, as wide as I'm tall and with arms the size of a small tunnel. That's comics, where they can make characters exaggerated and stylised. And if the filmmakers did cast as close as they could get to that and went for a hulking behomoth of a man, the odds of that person also being a good actor would be very slim.

Chris Hemsworth may not be the man mountain of the comics, but he's a big, muscular guy who will look plenty convincing as our movie Thor, especially next to shorties like Robert Downey Jr.

Yea seriously I don't understand that mentality.

They are huge in the comics because they are DRAWN that way. The ONLY way you are gonna get a 100% comic book accurate Thor in the physique department is if you get a wrestler in. And no ****ing way in hell would I be happy about that. And no one else should be either.

LOL, We were all fine with the way Superman looked in all the Superman movies. He was puny compared to the Comic-book Superman.

yea its pretty hard to get comic acurate bodies on guys like batman/superman/thor for examples. Unless we were going with bodybuilders who could have very little/no acting abilities and all that. Now i think chris is fine for thor. Plus we have no word on how his costume is going to look.

Jackman as Wolverine in the lastest movie is as close as any guy has gotten to that kind of shape. And the film still sucked.

The pictures from the Red Dawn set definitely show him getting bigger. Does anyone know when those pics were actually taken cause between then and the beginning of Thor filming seems like plenty if time for him to get even more buff. He seemed pretty darn big already in those RD pics.

i believe it was stated those recent pics were from within the last few weeks of filming since red dawn i believe is still shooting. Then of course chris is also currently working on rehersals for thor with production starting in mid jan.

It's just impossible for an actor to get that big, for starters there just isn't the time, second to get that big requires a commitment that goes beyond the call of duty, it's a serious transformation to get ones self that massive for only 3-4 months, then it's equally as much of a pain to lose that size and weight. As long as the dude is in shape there really shouldn't be anything to complain about.

Yea i have nothing against chris i think he looks just fine, now i just want to see how thor's look will be. As for getting bigger body size it really counts on what body type actor has, his training/diet, and how much time they have from being signed to when film goes into production.

Chris Hemsworth is big enough as he is. If he got bigger, I think it would actually become distracting to the movie. The audience would stop relating to him.

I thought he did pretty well for his small role in star trek. But i cant judge him for thor since we dont know how he is going to play it and how kenneth's directing and the rest of the cast is going to play off with him.
