Chris Hemsworth is Thor

Seeing those pictures, I can definitely picture Hemsworth with 10-15 lbs of extra muscle. I am thinking the guy is going to be jacked and will make for a very impressive Thor.

When you add the plate-maile armor he'll look bigger as well! :woot:

yea with the red dawn photos from oct/nov to when filming started up for thor last month or so. And folks saying he was still working out more then through now. His arms are probably very big. Will be great once we do get a shot of chris look's presently.

I'm actually starting to think Chis Hemsworth is actually Thor and was Banished from Asgard when Odin found out they're making a movie for his son. He just wanted to get the casting right. Odin's such a fanboy. :awesome:

im reposting this from the avengers forum where people were talking about how the hulk would start out as a threat and the Avengers have to take him down. it made me wonder what people think Thors power levels should be like

i'm against Hulk being used as a villain/mind controlled because it will make Thor look like a *****. Hulk shouldnt be a threat that takes the whole Avengers to take down, just Thor for a balanced fight

i doubt it will happen but i'd like to see them make Thor appear bigger than the actor actually LOTR style or something. i dont really like how in the avengers manips Thor looks like a regular sized guy with everyone else and then Hulk is like this enormous monster 3 times the size of him. i think it would be cool to see Thor like 7 feet (i dont know his offical height, he just seems pretty huge in most pics) and Hulk at 9 or something like that.

i dont think that is going to be an issue, chris is like 6'4 i believe, plus in thor's boots probably adds at least another inch or two. So he would probably look 6'6ish on screen. As for the rest of the avengers rdjr is only 5'8, norton i believe is what around 6'0, and the current cap contenders are between 5'9-6'1. So they would all look good in comparison. Then if the hulk is in there he is around 9-10ft tall.

I don't think we need CG enlargement for Thor. He's a big guy in the comics, but he's never really been portrayed as superhumanly large. Just way, way toward the upper limit of human bigness. I'd prefer to just see a really big dude playing him naturally than have funky camera angles or special effects making him larger than a human could naturally be.

Even though it may take all the avengers to take down Hulk they can still do it in a way that makes Thor look powerful.

For Example they could have the other Avengers trying to fight the Hulk and getting their tails whipped and then just when it looks like he is gonna beat them have Thor appear and tip the scales back in their favor. Have thor and Hulk fight one on one for some time and have the battle look more or less even and have the others come in to push the scales all the way over to their side. It's not hard to do just make it look like Thor is the only one that can actually hurt the Hulk. Could even have Tony make it comment like "Man, sure glad I listen to Fury and got you on our side"

They could do that... but the Hulk is more popular than pretty much all the Avengers put together. At best, I think we'll see Iron Man fare slightly better than the other Avengers against the Hulk, thanks to his recent surge in popularity.

Hulk Buster Armour maybe. And who knows maybe by then Thor's Popularity may have grown too so that could affect it also.

EDIT: Remember Iron Man was more or less and overnight sensation and I think Thor can pull that off also

Since Kyle and Yost's knowledge of Thor doesn't stretch much beyond the Thor Wikipedia page.

Should be fun to see how they will handle cap/thor/ironman up against hulk if that does end up as a fight in the avengers film.

As long as the Hulk doesn't lift Mjolnir, it should be fine. I fully expect to see Thor get his ass kicked whenever he fights anyone in his own weight class at this point, so that won't bug me too much. I just remind myself that he's still a good character, even if he is Marvel's punching bag.

Its funny how fans are angry at little things like Hulk lifting the hammer.I guess its because i don't read comics so I don't get what the big deal is,anyway that fight is my favourite scene in that movie

I hate to say it but I think when we do see the set pictures, there will be a fair bit of griping by people who think Thor should look bigger. I think the audience will say "Gee,that guy is huge" and some fans will say "he's not huge enough"

The whole point of Thor's hammer is that only the worthy can lift it. There are maybe half a dozen people besides Thor who have proven worthy enough. The Hulk's a moron who does at least as much damage as good, if not more. I'd say a complaint against the Hulk lifting Thor's hammer is valid, given that it violates a big part of what makes Thor special.

But like I said, that's Ultimate Thor, who sucks anyway, so it didn't bother me.

Those two knuckle heads need to step aside and let JMS get in there and write the animated Thor features. "Hulk Vs." seems to be ironclad proof that these jokers don't understand Thor very well, regardless of whether or not it was the more "emotional" of the two segments. Thor losing to Hulk wouldn't be so bad if Thor at least put up a decent fight, but they can't even do that much right, they couldn't even give a decent early showing of what Thor should be as a warrior. A single shot of Thor in mid air surrounded by some monsters with his hammer over his head does not convey this.

yea they need to get more knowledgable folks from the comics and all that on board for any of the animated stuff going on.

No they don't,because you guys don't like how he was portrayed, it does not mean others did not .In fact I'm sure some Thor fans don't mind his portrayal
