Cinematic Civil War:MCU vs DCCU - Part 9

I personally love the final battle with Doomsday, plenty was done practically so it wasn't all CGI.

There have been more than a few questionable CGI moments in the MCU. I think that's why I prefer the Netflix shows over pretty much everything else at the moment. I mean both Marvel and DC. Most of the things in the Netflix shows just feels real.

Once Wonder Woman and Superman started leaping around, It turned into a video game. It turned me off. I felt like I was watching a cut scene from that DC online video game. That's the problem with shooting on a CGI screen. It don't blend well because of the fire. The environment looked fake compared to the Russos who recreated a whole airport in CW. And that was shot on a green screen.

There were bad shots in the airport scene as well though. I didn't have the issue others did with Spiderman looking out of place, but BP did a few times.

In terms of Trinity vs. Doomsday and the CW Airport Battle, it's no contest for me that the latter was far superior.

It's no question the Airport scene was better... and more memorable.

Joke never gets old.

What's his face doing when he's winking? :o

Yet it felt more real than the DD fight. There were bad shots of IM,BP and SM but overall? Yeah it was impressive in terms of rendering for the the buildings, explosions and such.

the worst shots of Iron Man, imo, were just anytime he was standing around without the helmet, his head looked floaty and the lighting looked off
Spidey looked quite cartoony fairly often, probably the worst CGI in the film

BP, outside of that spin kick, looked 100% perfect to me

compared to BvS, where the "money" shot everyone was praising when the trailers hit was WW jumping at DD, and that looked straight video game imo

I must be the only one that doesn't really take to much from whether CG is bad or good. Don't get me wrong if somethings noticeably terrible I will call it out but often I have respect for what goes into making a film and I get that CG won't always look great.

Both? It's not hard to be lighter than BvS, but a Wonder Woman movie, especially one set in WW1, is going to be dark, and deservedly so. Yes, she's a symbol of hope, yes she has fun doing what she does, but first and foremost she's a warrior. Her, Batman, and Aquaman are the three "dark" members of the central league.

Yet The First Avenger was also set in a war setting and it was far from "dark"... and Cap was a symbol of hope by the end of the movie.

Thankfully, Gadot and co disagree with you:

For her it was very important to not just portray her as a goddess, but to tell a very simple story of someone who believes in good and believes that people should be happy and lead safe, happy lives. We cared a lot about simplifying Wonder Woman’s agenda, because it is simple. It was her heart that we cared about, not her being this warrior. When you tell a story from the heart, all of us can relate, because all of us want to live in a safe, quiet, and peaceful world.

the Batman warehouse scene is easily the best fight in that movie, that last fight against Doomsday is a bunch of CG garbage thrown on the screen.

Don't know where else to post this, but this was on my facebook feed:
