Hey I'm with you I loved JW and was ok with him on this project. I'm kinda disappointed he's gone. But also kinda okay with it. Let's just see what happens from here but I'm more than ok with JJ or Rian finishing things off.

I am not consured though TFA was great and I think 8 and 9 is going to be great no matter what.

If Rian Johnson gets the gig then that speaks to how confident Disney is in Episode VIII.

Let him bring it home.

I'm so happy knowing that Rey won't fall into Trevorrow's hands.

Good riddance.

Is it like really a rumor or just something people would like to see?

I'm interested in this too. I love Nolan, but I don't see him meshing with Star Wars. Bond, yes, Star Wars, not so much. Unless it's s spin off focusing on other characters of a different tone.

I would be intrigued simply because I'd be fascinated to see him do something so different from his actual work, but I don't see him being interested in a position with this much creative restrictions.

Good choice. JW was totally overrated anyway.

I am laughing at how transparent you are in your trolling.

He trolls from one thread to another.

You do realize that nothing I've said here has been off-topic right? You may not like my opinions on JJ Abrams, but me saying I don't want him back is no more trolling than you saying you want him to return.

And it's not like my opinions are that outlandish, many consider Abrams a poor director. He's frequently put down there with people like Shyamalan and Michael Bay.

I am not saying he would do it or that it is realistic thing to happened just that I am wondering if this is really a rumor or just something that people would like to see happened because he is good. Like you said it is so different it would be a chance for him to show his versatility if he did something like this.

Totally OT, but I'd really like to see a movie directed by Colin Trevorrow and George Lucas. Just to see how bad it would be. :woot:

I'm sticking to my guns and saying Rian is the guy.

I didn't have access to gifs earlier, so excuse me for a second.

I was happy when I heard the news about Colin.

Of course, it sucks but I always thought he was a strange choice to close out the trilogy.

Like how he is more qualified than, let's say Gareth Edwards? And looking at what's happening with some of the director's, which includes Lord/Miller, I think it's the matter of 'can they handle a project lie this'?

Trevorrow is no better than a Marc Webb. Went from indie to tenpole way too fast. With JJ, he was a powerful producer who went gradually onto directing. Rian'a really indie but he's done a good number of small films, all in different genres. Colin didn't have that.

I've clearly been giving too much credit to Lucasfilm in terms of having their s#!% together.

Firing Voldemort is a real plus in their favor on that one.

I'm glad Trevorrow is out, TBH, I did not want him on the project from the beginning. Jurassic World was so mediocre I'm glad he's not making a finale of the new SW trilogy.

Nothing to worry about. Your post was definitely not any kind of trolling. Don't know what Broseph44's and DarthSkywalker's problem is.

I think it is a good sign that they have their **** together. They recognize a problem, and fix it. They clearly recognized a problem before it could get worse this time. Based on what I've heard of Book of Henry, one could only imagine what Treverrow dreamed up...

Lookin at you WB...

It makes more sense when you look at the poster's history in the SW section.

I'm kinda indifferent to this news. JW is the only film of his I've seen and I was very 'meh' about it.
