I just read up on the Chase/Harmon feud....here's my two cents. It sounds to me like both men are responsible. Chevy should have never walked about of filming, that is rude to his fellow cast members, the crew and just about everyone involved as it means they have to come to work for another day.

As for Harmon, chanting "**** you," in front of someone's wife and daughter (even in a playful manner) is unprofessional and uncalled for. And it would even be one thing if he did it with McHale, with whom he seems to be on better terms with and is a younger guy. Chase is from a different generation. He's 70 years old. You really just don't do that to an old guy.

The voicemail was a bit out of line, but it says a lot about Harmon that rather than trying to smooth things over, he instead played it in front of his friends (and probably Chase's coworkers) and embarrassed Chase further.

Chase is notoriously difficult to work with and Harmon seems like an immature ass who would almost be a nightmare to work for. It seems to me that this was inevitable.

Having said that, Chevy has been know to be an a-hole. And his detachment from the cast seems to be evident. I Especially noticed these while watching the bloopers where they seem to be annoyed by him most of the time.

I've noticed this as well. Watching the special features on the DVDs, it seems like the core cast hangs out a lot, bull ****s, etc on the behind the scenes stuff. Chase is never around when they do that. When Yvette Nicole Brown went around with a camera for a viral video for the DVD release, the only one she did not talk to was Chevy. I just get the feeling that he is more of an outsider among the cast.

Of course, a big part of that could be the age gap. Chase is 70 year old. He may prefer to just go in, do his job and then leave and go about his day. The rest of the cast are between 28 (Donald Glover) and 42 (Ken Jeong). The closest one in age to Chase has a 26 year gap. I can see why he may feel like a bit of an outsider and why there may be some distance between him and his coworkers...

What Harmon did sounds more like a joke. A joke that went too far? Sure. But getting a room to chant "**** you" in a serious attempt to hurt someone doesn't sound like something anyone would do.

A "joke" or not, it is pretty low to get all his employees to chant that in front of Chevy's wife and daughter. Neither come off looking good in this story.

Maybe they'll get Jack Black back to fill Pierce's spot? :awesome:

Recast him for one episode before writing him off the show and put Chang in.

Who should play him for a 1-2 episode recast?

This guy. Just tell Bill it'd really piss Chevy off and he'd do it in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't mind at all if Chevy leaves. I personally never liked him or his work, nor do I care for Pierce's character.

Pierce is a good character, but the show wouldn't be fatally wounded with him gone. Basically the only role Pierce has that can't be outsourced to another character is his funny casual bigotry. Otherwise, jokes that rely on the male libido can go to Jeff, bizarre life experiences can go to Chang, and flights to the surreal can go to Abed and Troy.

Saw Donald Glover do improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade last night, along with Ben Schwartz (Jean-Ralphio from Parks). Hilarious show, nice guys. I wanted to ask Donald what the deal was with Chevy and Community, but I didn't want to be that guy.

In the last episode, The Dean said something about Greendale students technically being in the Army reserve. I wonder if that will come back to bite somebody.

it would be hilarious if there were a made up war in community, and Pierce gets drafted.

Due to a strange arcane law, Pierce is retroactively drafted into the Vietnam war. Of course, Vietnam is different now, so Pierce spends the rest of his life banging Asian chicks in a tropical tourist trap.

I really hope this doesn't hurt the show.I heard networks don't like to keep on shows where cast/crew are feuding.

that would be the perfect way for his character to go out. a blaze of glory.

I had to make this comparison, but I'm thinking of 2-1/2 Men: if Chase goes and they replace him with another actor of a similar profile (Murray is a bit of an unrealistic pipe dream, but maybe Dan Aykroyd or Steve Martin), this could essentially be a "warm reboot" of the show and a way to bring in totally new viewers.

Steve Martin is a pipe dream too. Dan Aykroyd, um, I don't think he even lives in Los Angeles. The only realistic scenario is to replace Pierce with Chang.

I enjoy Pierce's character the most. Will be disappointed if he leaves. Favourite episode is the one with Pierce's interaction with his father. Probably would be less inclined to watch it without him

You're probably right, but I mentioned Martin because he's been on 30 Rock, and I don't think he's as focussed on a film career as much as Bill Murray.

I listened to the voicemail and for some reason, it seems like a joke to me. Maybe I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be a prank or publicity stunt.

How about some Martin Short action...

That's a good idea actually. Currently, Martin's a judge on Canada's Got Talent, so I think he'd be extremely open to make a big career move.

Well on one of the commentaries I recall someone asking Chase "who do you really like working with in the cast" and he answered smugly, "Martin Short."

So, it'd be funny if that happens.

If it were McHale or Glover having this feud with Harmon, I'd agree. But this is entirely in line with both Chase and Harmon's personalities. Then again, that may be what makes the joke funny/believable.

jeez. That's like trading up one prima Donna for another prima Donna

Murray probably wouldn't do an episode unless he got script approval and top billing
