The Dark Knight Rises Concerns about TDKR

What I want which addresses my concerns at the same time:

-Bale's batman voice not returning.
-Better editing and pacing
-A script that's not handing itself to me with the characters analyzing everything.
-Female characters that don't suck (At least not figuratively >.>)

While these are probably valid concerns in their own right, but I get the vibe of being 'nitpicky' as well.

While CW is obviously the best there can be in terms of female love interests, I will always love Rachel's character and the love interest/moral compass role she played for Bruce in these films. Her and Chase Meridian are my favorite female characters in the Batfilms so far (Meridian to a much lesser extent, though).
I agree about both.

I really appreciate how Nolan gave Bruce a friend who helped flesh out his childhood (as opposed to "hurr durr i am a 12 year old batman") and served as a moral compass. Its just that both actresses were kind of annoying in their own way and the character wasnt that well written.

Dini is doing a similar thing with Tommy Elliot and Zatanna in Streets of Gotham. Though we havent seen much of it, i'd like to see more about Bruce and Zatanna as childhood friends growing up.

I don't have any legitimate concerns.
I was just so bent on seeing Hugo Strange that I'm confused as to what Catwoman and Bane will present to the series thematically.
But I guess that's the point of anticipation...

Bane is the worst character in Batman. His name alone reminds me how awful growing up sometimes was.
I thought Hardy would be Hugo Strange or The Black Mask.
Bane (Batman) =Kaine (Spiderman) representative of how terrible 1990's comics could sink.

...What?
I'm not sure what you said here.
And Bane is only an awful character to people who only know of his Batman & Robin interpretation.
Those who've seen more know that he's one of Batman's most formidable villains...He's intellectually on par with him, physically superior, and almost as good of a fighter.

I'm well versed in Batman lore, Bane was introduced during the beginning of the Clone Saga in the Spider-man titles over at Marvel. Knightfall, Knightquest, and KnightsEnd were in the same spirit and tone of the clone saga and other 90's narratives of heroes being replaced. Ben Reilly and Azrael are essentially the same characters, same goes for Bane and Kaine. Bane was born during one of the lowest creative/financial times for comics, his character was nothing more than a way to boost sales during a slow time for DC and Marvel. Bane is nothing more than a retread of other characters, heavily borrowing from Doc Savage.

Bane is a better character than the Riddler . I don't care how long Riddler has been around . Knightfall is a better story than any Riddler story

Bane is a different type of character than the other previous villains. He is more of a physical threat to Batman than any of the previous villains in the series.

I think it will be nice change of pace.

I was never talking about the Riddler to begin with. Hugo Strange would have been a much better choice for TDKR. Hugo has been around since 1940, and was one of Batman's first villains. Prey would have been a perfect fit for the new film.

Give me a brief description of knightfall, im curious to see how banes story is better then riddlers

To bee honest, it's too early to tell if Prey would have been a better adaptation since we don't know a thing about The Dark Knight Rises yet.

I think Knightfall is a more powerful story overall than any Riddler story.

-Bane breaks EVERYONE out of Arkham
-They start killing and destroying gotham
-Batman takes them down one after the other getting more and more tired physically and mentally
-Bane investigates Batman and finds out he's Bruce, so when Bruce is broken mentally and ready to collapse in his home, Bane is there and shatters his back.
(good parts in a nutshell)
-The rest is typical "Recovery" and beat the bad guy stuff

Knightfall is about Bane breaking Batman mentally and Physically and taken over Gotham . I honestly can't recall a Riddler story that really stood out . The Joker has Killer Joker ( amongst others . Two Face has Long Halloween ... Catwoman has Year One amongst others . Bane has Knightfall ... Where is the Riddler story ?

Hmm, sounds alright but it doesnt sound like an award winning story lol. I think Batman Begins will always have the best story out of all the batmans

I doubt it will be an adaptation of Knightfall in any way.

Nobody's saying to base TDKR on Knightfall 100%. Just take elements, like BB and TDK have done from various graphic novels.

While these are probably valid concerns in their own right, but I get the vibe of being 'nitpicky' as well.

Nit picking would be things like Malone closing the door on a moving car and concerning that a major fail for the film, it's more annoying than degrading.

My beef has more to do with the how Nolan structured and paced the film than the continuity errors that, even my friend who loves the dark knight admitted, The Dark Knight has alot of them.

Wow you guys realzie that Joker is in Arkham Asylum so what is Bane going to do break everyone out of prision except for the Joker!! I guess he can go to a different city when he gets out.

We don't know how Bane will be used. TDKR doesn't have to follow the Knightfall storyline.

Again, I think the nitpicks are valid, but the way I look at it is this: the continuity errors would a big deal ONLY if it was completely distracting upon your first viewing of the film. Because usual on your first viewing, you're there to absorb the film. I think there's much more positives than negatives, so that's why I tend to overlook some of the flaws that it had. I think there are some continuity errors here and there because of Nolan's semi-messy approach in directing.

A good example is leaving Joker behind when Batman jumps to save Rachel, leaving his poor guests behind. While I was like 'huh', it didn't bother me too much in the long run.

If I have one beef with TDK, it's the glaring continuity errors between shots. Other than that, I'm fine.
