If Hathaway looks like this in the movie, the Dark Knight won't be the only thing rising during the show.
Ba ha ha!

How is he a massive fall from Joker?
In the comics, but Nolan could potentially use Bane in a bigger way. Who knows? Im excited to find out. Bane has lots of potential to be tapped into. He could be a bigger threat to Batman then joker ever was.
Bane is certainly a downgrade from Joker but that is true of most of the villains. In TDKR it is definitely Catwoman who will bring along the 'iconic' character status to fill the void of Joker.
No, it's an honest question, not being funny or ironic. You expressed a concern about his talent (or lack of it) and then you took it back because he won the GG. I find that curious.
So you're saying this in terms of being iconic then?
I was never being serious. Bale is one of the most talented actors in Hollywood and it has only taken those yahoos over 25 years to realize it. He was brilliant in Empire of the Sun, one of my favorite movies.
Yes I'm talking about the names people know. Joker, Catwoman, Riddler, etc. Bane does not make that list.
But I assume he will after TDKR.![]()

Oooooooooooh, I see. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding!
The music in that movie really squeezes my heart..
Hi all,
I'm new here and wanted to post this as a thread, but my "newbie" status won't let me. Anyway, I'd like to make a few ironclad predictions about the next film that I'm sure we'll all see.
This is a long list, and you'll think I'm crazy or just flat-out wrong, but I swear at least a few of these plot-points and details will be in TDKR:
1. TDKR will pick up from the last scene of TDK. Wounded and on the run from the GCPD, Batman will find himself in the Narrows. There, he'll meet Selina Kyle, a call-girl and petty thief (reference to Year One); Selina hides Batman until the GCPD search lets up. As Batman slips into unconsciousness, muttering Rachel's name, he hands her Alfred's number, which she calls; Alfred picks up Batman and thanks Selina.
2. Six months to a year will transpire since the incident. Nolan will hit us with several updates in 15 minutes: Wayne Manor is rebuilt; Batman is monitoring Gordon's task force and a supply of the Venom steroid; Gordon must now work with a new anti-Batman district attorney and Sarah Ellen, who leads the Batman task force; and, oh, yeah -- there's a new crime lord, codename Bane, who is taking off where the Joker left.
3. Bane comes into play with the remnants of the Falcone family. He is combining all the rogue elements and discussing the applications of Venom, which he calls the future of Gotham -- and says that he will take down Batman. Enter Selina Kyle, who everyone knows as Carmine Falcone's daughter. Selina says she can help Bane break the Bat.
Batman and Selina maintain close relations throughout the film, so -- at least until the end -- it is never clear whether Selina is working for Batman or working for Bane.
4. Not sure how this ties in, but Bane basically reveals to Selina or someone that he was the one who "set free" or provided the Joker with resources. He's also been in touch with the League of Shadows, which is providing the Venom drug. Bane sets in motion a plot that (again) releases the inmates of Arkham Asylum.
5. A note from Bane to the GCPD tips them off that Batman is hiding in the Wayne Manor. Gordon and Ellen lead the GCPD to the manor, where Bruce presents himself as a very un-Batman-like playboy. At some point afterward Gordon and Ellen share a kiss and begin their affair.
6. At some point Batman himself intervenes to break up a Venom operation -- only to learn that it's a trap. Bane confronts Batman, and for the first time Batman find himself physically and intellectually outmatched. Bane makes a reference to Bruce Wayne's associates, and Batman barely escapes.
7. Either Bane or an associate beats Lucius Fox nearly to death, making him an example. At some point, Bane severely injures or nearly kills Alfred.
8. At some point it is revealed that Ellen is "on the take" with Bane, making her another pawn in Bane's plot to physically and emotionally break Batman and demonstrating that Gotham still suffers from corruption.
9. Near the end Selina reveals herself to have been working for Batman, who, with her assistance, compromises the value of the entire Venom supply. Bane injects himself with Venom and raises his fist to kill her -- and enter Batman, who wrestles Bane to the streets of Gotham.
10. Bane's public confrontation with Batman draws the GCPD and public. Bane is beating Batman to a pulp in front of a crowd; Selina intervenes and gives Batman a chance to break free, but Bane appears to have the winning edge.
Here, near the end, is where Batman will be at Bane's mercy. The public and GCPD will intervene and somehow save Batman or allow Gordon to help him escape -- thus fulfilling the film's redemption theme.
11. At some point, probably near the end, Gordon finds Batman unmasked. He says, "You know, I'm practically blind without my glasses" (referencing Year One), and helps him into his vehicle or Batmobile.
12. Bruce visits Alfred and Lucius, who are recovering at the Gotham hospital. He later appears as Batman to Selina, who makes a Catwoman reference; they flirt, kiss, whatever. Batman's last scene is with Gordon.
13. At some point a plot device will absolve Batman of his alleged crimes and lay the blame at either Bane's feet or Harvey Dent's.
14. I don't know how these tie in, but there will be more flashbacks to Thomas and Martha Wayne and Rachel Dawes. Bruce will in all likelihood visit Rachel's grave.
Other predictions:
-New Batmobile
-New batsuit and/or advanced infantry suit that gives Bruce the wherewithal to fight Bane
-Bat-cave gets a new look
-Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, and other rogues' gallery villains will make supporting appearances
-The Daily Planet, Metropolis, and/or Lex Luthor will have their rumored mentions; Batman possibly visits Metropolis at some point in the film
I wish I could bet money on this, because it'd make me a millionaire![]()
I'm concerned that I'll have to pee during the movie. It will probably clock in at 2hrs 2Om and I know how thirsty I get at the movie theatre. Plus, liquids go right through me. I'll take it easy on drinking fluids that day.
Anchor_Content, that's your list of "I'd-like-to-see"s?
And yet it happened in Batman: Year One... which Nolan drew heavily upon for BB and even TDK.
