CW Presents: The Vampire Diaries - Part 1

Nina Dobrev’s Vampire Diaries Exit | “We would have loved Nina to stay,” Pedowitz admitted. “She did a great job for the six years she was on the show and she’s welcome anytime she wants to come back. I have to give credit to [executive producers] Julie Plec and Caroline Dries in terms of [re-focusing the show] on Damon and Stefan … as well as having Kat Graham and Candice Accola’s characters stepping up in ways we’re very happy with.”
Yes Gawd.

Didn't they say earlier that Caroline was basically becoming female lead? Hopefully they let both be co-leads like Damon/Stephen get to be co-male leads.

TV Reboots and Revivals Wish List
Julie Plec (Executive producer, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Containment)
"Little House on the Prairie. A hundred percent. I would love to see a good prairie show, which seems really silly and cheesy, but those shows, Little House specifically, did such great work with family drama, romance and topical coming-of-age stuff. It really was a magnificent show. And if you read the books, they were scary, too. Growing up in the prairie was not easy. [Laughs] It was not fun. There were locusts and snowstorms. It's a beautiful story, and I hope to see somebody do it. I think somebody's got the rights. Otherwise, I would try to do it myself."
Gawd yes, do it, Julie.

How much time has passed when The Vampire Diaries returns? — Emily
Well, time is relative this year since TVD will basically be telling stories in two different timelines that run simultaneously. “We’re actually picking up all over the place,” executive producer Julie Plec tells me. “We’re picking up a little bit in the future, we’re picking up a lot in the future, we’re doing a little bit of a time shuffle as we launch into the season. One timeline is set very much in the future and the other timeline will catch us up to the events of the final scene of last season.”

Candice Accola is Pregnant

Curious what lengths they'll have to go to to hide this. Are they just gonna baggy shirt it and hope she's one of those pregnant girls where you can't tell they're pregnant unless you're looking directly at their belly?

Or maybe they'll have her give birth to a demon baby. This will probably force Bonnie even more to the forefront which isn't a bad thing.

I just don't know how I'd feel about a special/supernatural pregnancy so soon after Klaus/Hayley/Hope.

Congrats to Candice.

My guess is they'll just cover it up and pretend that all's normal.

Mega Buzz: The Vampire Diaries Time-Jump Isn't What You Think
by Robyn Ross | Sep 3, 2015 7:00 PM EDT

When The Vampire Diaries ended last season with a post-apocalytpic look at Mystic Falls, most assumed that was part of the major flash-forward that the show will introduce in Season 7. Well, we were wrong!

Instead, the heretics' takeover of the town happens almost immediately, which viewers will come to understand when we see that final scene replayed in real time during the season premiere. "The flash-forwards won't necessarily be about how we ended last season," executive producer Caroline Dries tells TVGuide.com. "[They're] introducing a mythology that will push us forward into Season 8."

As for that new mythology, here's what we can tell you: Viewers will find out exactly how many years the show jumps ahead in the very opening scene. And those looks into the future will also give you a glimpse at a new Big Bad -- perhaps someone you already know -- that is very intent on finding the Salvatores.

Just screened the #TVD S7 premiere. I can't tell you much, but I will say this: Elena/Nina's absence is felt but it's not overwhelming...

EXCELLENT year-long set-up, <3 the Heretics, Lily's a boss, smart Bamon and Steroline scenes, and I can't wait to see more

Watched #TVD season premiere. I do believe the show has found new creative life. Elena's exit : TVD :: Marisa's exit : The OC

Cost of Advertising for all CW shows, Vampire Diaries took a huge hit with both Ninas departure and ratings.

She looks pretty far along. I wonder how far into the season she starts showing.

Noticed they're crediting Candice with her married name now.

I'm kind of surprised the Heretics are being made out to be the threat that they are. It seems like the optimal, 100% effective way of killing them is to keep them distracted long enough to sneak up behind them and decapitate/rip their heart out.

So, any guesses on who's hunting Stefan? Looks like it's a she. Lily? New character? Stefan's scar looks like the one on that mute heretic.

Vampire Diaries returned to 1.4 mil and a 0.6, down 22 and 33 percent from last year’s premiere and off a tenth from its May finale.

How the mighty have fallen. Though Ninas departure didn't sink the ratings.
