Personally, I count Dan Jurgens' Superman as the definitive one. I suppose that's because I grew up with his art on Supes, though. Alan Davis' Superman is one of my favorites, too.

Bryan Hitch draws a great Superman, and he has a super-detailed style that's similar in some ways to yours. I think he's probably the guy you'd want to look at.

Right on. I'm working on a Superman sequence today. Let me channel some Hitch-yness into it and see what happens.
