The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Dane Dehaan IS Harry Osborn

TheWallCrawler is right. While being rich and/or famous doesn't mean all rich/famous men are womanizers. But it does mean they have the power and potential to be womanizers should they choose so. It doesn't reflect rich/famous people as a whole, but it is believable. The other unfortunate side of that is that some women do throw themselves at rich and famous men for one reason or another (otherwise we wouldn't have things like groupies). And, of course, that doesn't mean any woman will do something like that. I'm willing to bet it's a small but highly publicized minority.

Just thought i'd update this here as well
taken from Guest on the general discussion

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Dane Dehaan talked about Harry Osborn's complex arc in the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Harry's relationship with Peter Parker and Oscorp. "When you first meet Harry he's just graduated from high school, and he has to come back to New York to help deal with Oscorp, and its legacy, and his father. He also sees Peter Parker for the first time in a long time; they were childhood friends" says Dehaan, "So it's really about Harry having a friendship with Peter and an allegiance to Peter, but also being the heir apparent to Oscorp, and having to deal with that. Yeah, and it's a friendship that... I mean, they haven't been friends for such a long time, but they definitely both feel like they used to be best friends, and ideally they would love to rekindle that friendship."

Dane later added that there are certain things Harry Osborn needs from Peter Parker and his alter ego, Spider-Man. "It's becoming very obvious that all of these villains are originating from within Oscorp, in one way or the other. There are things that Harry feels he owes Peter, and things he needs from Peter, there are things he feels he needs from Spider-Man, and then there's his responsibility to Oscorp. It's a very complicated storyline, really cool and dynamic."

After seeing that french tv-spot where a beaten up Harry Osborn (who damn near looks like he'd been drinking all night long, haha) is seen in the arms of police-officers, I thought I wanted to try and boost some life in to his dedicated thread here.

I really get the feeling that Dane Dehaan could steal a lot of the movies attention (of course in a good way). I think we're really gonna understand his journey. How he starts out as this graduated high-schooler, reunited with his only true childhood friend after many years apart. Seeing them having that good and friendly relationship brewing through the first 2/3'rds of the film. Also, we'll understand his relationship to his father, all ending with Harry going completely down the drain, going from the Harvey Dent-like "white knight", to doing a complete 180, turning around and ending up as a very psychotic and mean dude. If that's their approach than this could be sooo damn good! It's not the goblin he turns in to that has me pumped. It's how they're gonna portray Harry and his connection to Peter and so on and so forth, that has me pumped! Character development and more character development, thanks. Can't_wait! :-)

Definitely. If we get to see a lot of his background, personality, emotions, etc., that'll be great. ALONG with Max's origin, transformation, etc.,....if this is all balanced right, it's gonna be great.

I too think Harry (Dane) will steal the show. Andrew Garfield even said that himself haha.

I've been such a huge fan of Dane DeHaan since Chronicle. :D

Dane DeHaan is amazing. When he was first cast as Harry, I really had no idea of who he was, but in the few (two or three) movies I've seen him, he has been one of the best things about each movie. He has to be one of the most promising young actors right now.

Same. He's going places!

Now...I need to hear his Goblin voice asap! Of course, his voice may not even change at all when he transforms, but I have no idea what to expect and it's killing me!

He goes thru a physical transformation so I am expecting his voice to change. It may not change that much at all, maybe just a bit higher pitched with a cackle or maybe just a bit raspier. I'd honestly be surprised if there's no voice change.

Yeah there should be some type of change. Maybe not too over the top. I don't think that would fit the Webbiverse. I'd like a laugh too though, really.

What will Harry's Goblin voice sound like?

Isn't that the question of the day?

As did Jamie Foxx: everyone seems to praise Dane out of all the cast. :woot:

Some people complain about him being too mopey, but isn't that the point? Harry has obviously been through a lot. DeHaan was great in Chronicle, so I feel like his performance in this movie might be somewhat similar (which would be a good thing).

I can't wait to see Dane as Harry and Goblin. He's gonna own it.

Does anybody think he'll be in TASM3? I really hope he is. I want Norman, TMITS, and Harry to be big players in it. That's just me, though. They have to tie up the main Osborn/Oscorp plot for this trilogy, right? Can't do that without Harry.

I don't think Dane is signed yet, but I'm sure he'll be back. I'll be pretty upset if he isn't though.

DeHaan isn't quite a big actor yet, so he probably won't pass up another opportunity to return as Harry Osborn.

He apparently put a lot of effort in getting the role of Harry Osborn.

Pretty sure Dane will be back.

Funny enough, I work at a music store, and on the Metallica "Through the Never" DVD (Starring Dane), it lists his acting credits as "The Amazing Spider-Man 2 & 3".

It suprised me, but it could be an indication we will see Harry again in some capacity.

I think he will be back. But perhaps not in the Goblin form.

Whatever happens to Norman could replace Harry's Goblin.
