The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Dane Dehaan IS Harry Osborn

By far the most plausible set of Goblin theories I've seen

:awesome:

It's what I think anyway.

He's pasty and green, blood and pus spots covering him, his eyes are becoming dark, he's losing his hair, his teeth are chipping away.

And that suit is feeding something into him from the other pics we've seen.
It's embedded into his skin I think.

I just hope for those fans that really dislike Dane's Goblins aesthetic, they can still enjoy the character in the film, I've never understood when fans let a costume or design choice ruin the whole experience for them.

Well said! I'm not a fan of Raimi's Goblin suit, but am I going to watch that movie until they nail my coffin shut? Hell yeah! Aesthetics aren't everything people...if they were, some of us would never be able to leave our homes lol (you're all beautiful to me :D)

I think he looks awesome, a lot different to what we've had in the comics, movies and animated series but I appreciate what they are going for here.

To me this is clearly a Beta version of the Goblin as you can see his costume isn't fully completed. I think Harry takes an early version of the goblin formula and becomes this version of the goblin and then Norman will have a more refined version and use harry's look as inspiration for his costume.

I do understand the backlash for it though, I can't blame anyone for not liking but me personally I think it looks cool!

:funny:

Do we think Harry will make it to the next movie? Or will it be Norman's revenge if you get what I mean?

Hard to say. Something big is being planned for Norman, that's for sure.

In everything goblin related, yeah.

No siree bob.

Even the Ultimate Hulk looking Goblin looked classier than DeHaan's scruffy Evil Ed.

I do every chance I get.

Way to go.

Well he looks like a goblin in any case. References and direct features galore.

I agree. The new one in NO WAY resembles any Green Goblin.

I liked Ultimate when he was a bit smaller, had the smaller horns, and Goblin ears and the purple cloak.

If Dane captures the maniacal nature of Harry from the books that's all I need. I ain't got time to be worrying about him looking like a troll or whatever.

But...Harry isn't maniacal. Norman is. Harry's beef with Spider-Man lays solely on Spider-Man/Peter himself. He wouldn't hurt anyone except Peter.

That's pretty maniacal.

I don't know. I don't see Norman goblin going the route of "avenging my son". I just can't imagine Norman of Webbverse doing that.

Well... he WAS going to blow up a bunch of businessmen for 'betraying' Norman. That was pretty messed up. lol

Way to go guys....you got my attention.

Are people still fighting over Harry's Goblin? I feel like this is going to be one of those arguments that will continue to exist 20 years from now.

I don't see that either. Considering that Norman is potentially the one that is manipulating his own son into doing horrible things, I seriously doubt he gives a crap about him really. If Harry ends up dying, which I think he won't, imo Norman wouldn't care enough to avenge his son. Norman is about Norman.

I agree with this also. I think Norman has motivations that pre-exist Harry becoming the Goblin. I doubt that he cares for Harry that much if at all.

Harry is not meant to look like comic Goblin 100%.

The new pic - he looks enough like Goblin imo.

And the point is, he's not portraying THE Green Goblin.
He's not mutating into a green monster with long ears...he's physically degenerating, hence his grotesque appearance.
He's not interested in theatrical costumes with cloaks and long caps...
The costume he's wearing is designed to give him enhanced strength, because he has no powers, unlike the comics.

Harry's not meant to be seen as comics Goblin. Because he's not. He's loosely inspired by the concept.
There's a logic and reason behind his creation into this villain he becomes.

Norman, however. He might mutate into the monster Goblin, unlike Harry's degeneration into a grotesque and deathly looking thing.
Norman might end up creating a costume based on Harry's look after taking the serum.
Might be complete with mask and cap, and I'm guessing that might be the case, because it would make sense like that.

 Norman is EXTREMELY self centered. Why would he instruct his son to carry out his plans if he cared about him?

I went from really hating GG's look in this movie to absolutely loving it.

He looks like a Goblin period.

He's looks freaking creepy and he actually looks like a goblin.

I don't buy your opinion that only acting matters. Both acting and appearance matter.

By that logic, Dafoe's GG was terrible. It was ONLY his performance that made that character good (he wasn't particularly well-written and his costume freaking sucked).

Dafoe's natural face was already like Green Goblin, they should have just painted him green. Little green make-up, some prosthetics ... and ...GG !

I mean, no need for a mask when his face looks like this -
