Honestly, I wonder why they bothered putting Goblin in this film since the impression that I've gotten from all of the clips is that the "Goblin" will pretty much be reduced to a "Venom-like" gimmick where he's only there for the final battle.

They've really been pushing this whole "Enemies unite" angle, but the stupid thing about it is that Harry most likely turns a villain half way into the film and only becomes a threat to Peter when he turns goblin for the final act.

And the Rhino doesn't even join the two and only appears in his suit, by himself, for like four minutes according to Webb.

Harry's Gobby will no doubt only be in the final third of the film. But a "venom-like-gimmick" he will not be. At this point, I will NEVER believe that. And quite honestly, I'm stunned that some haven't figured this out yet. The film won't be about the freaken Goblin. This story arc will revolve around HARRY's_character! His relationship to his father and the empire relying on his shoulders. It'll be about his relationship to Peter, and his whole turn to the dark side (this is why I have great faith that it'll work amazingly). So that when he finally DOES go wacko-gobby-like, it'll be that much more_powerful. His screen-time won't feel like a lame Raimi-Venom thing. This I have no doubt about. Harry's portrayal and turn to the evil, I strongly believe will be much more reminiscent of Harvey Dent and his journey towards Two-Face in TDK. And if done with great care and execution, this will all be very, VERY good.

I don't think this is THE Goblin anyways. I think Norman is bound to show up in a later film, completely ****ed up and with his full on distorted fanboyish-wet-dreamish-Green-Goblin look. And THAN you'll have it just the way you want it. But it's gonna happen later on. Right now you gotta think bigger than previous incarnations, dude.

I find it funny that Harry looks like he's a crack junkie...he's degenerating and becoming physically weak, relying on a suit to give him power, turning crazy because of the stuff he takes.

I think at some point, he's dying. Like his father was.

His appearance starts to deteriorate due to his drug use and health failing. Becoming crazy and paranoid from it all.

He ends up taking a serum and rather than helping him, it degenerates him further.
And that suit he wears, gives him the strength and speed to live long enough to demand to know what it is that can cure him.
He probably thinks Peter has it or at least knows what it is.

Probably didn't know it would do that to him.

Harry obviously thinks in the film science never fails.

I reckon he uses too much because there's apparently a scene where he nearly dies in Oscorp due to it. Or its not yet perfected.

I never thought about the possibility of Harry being a drug-addict right from the get-go, as he returns to New York in TASM2. He'll just hide it well for the biggest portion of the film. I actually would dig that!

I hope he goes off and kicks somebody's ass during the third act (out of anger and frustration), completely high on drugs and alcohol, right before taking the serum, turning Gobby! I mean, we've already seen him being escorted by police officers in a tv spot. And there, he's wearing the same hair-do, same clothes and same bruises, as seen in the trailers where he approaches Electro for help, in the Oscorp labs.

It could certainly create some interesting themes. And, the way i see it, it fits Harry's personality in the movie (rich boy running a major company, head over heels etc.)

I've known this for awhile now and I think it would be good sense of struggle for Harry; hell, Harry dated MJ first, but leaves him due to his heavy drug abuse. I always thought that played a heavy role into Harry's misfortunes in life and should be brought to the screen.
