The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Dane Dehaan IS Harry Osborn

Yeah his scenes with Andrew Garfield were really good... and he definitely steals the villain show from Electro. He's almost the Tom Hiddleston on the Spider-man universe

Yeah, he definitely had a lot of nuance in the role. Just kind of smug yet still obviously hurting and not knowing how to basically deal with his fate.

Yeah I saw the movie and it was great. I think I saw a different movie then the creits don't understand how people say the movie was mess. I liked harry I just didn't like his golbin laugh wasn't scray or crazy enough.

Dane definitely ripped it in the film, his portrayal of Harry Osborne was excellent

Dane totally owned this role as Harry Osborn/ Goblin jr. I hope to see more of him. We only got a tease of him as Gobby we need more

I liked him better than Franco but the entire goblin plot was a mess.

agreed....he's a better nuanced actor but the movie gave him nothing to do near end. Underdeveloped villains....let's not talk about Rhino..lol

Dehaan was perfect in this role. I wish he was Harry Osborn for the entire movie, since his chemistry with Garfield was so good. I would have saved the Goblin for the next movie.

If Norman becomes Green Goblin ,then I could see Harry becoming Hobgoblin.

This. I think it's important to build up that friendship of Peter and Harry over time. Would have made more sense to save Green Goblin for #3.

DeHaan put Franco to shame. And I liked Franco's Osborn for the most part.

He was excellent as Osborne and as Goblin. And I dont see it as rushed or forced at all, it made sense for the movie and set this up for everything that is to come. Fantastic rendition of the Green Goblin character. And as for the laugh, when i first it in the background i got shivers. I didnt expect a Goblin laugh and i really was pumped to hear it. Loved Goblin. Loved.

I don't think people quite get this...

He's not really The Green Goblin yet. He's just Harry mutating.

He hasn't become The Green Goblin yet, not in any real sense.

What we saw was just The Green Goblin peeking through.

"Proto Goblin", indeed.

That said, I thought he was fantastic. I liked the affectations, the "false face" he put on until Peter called him on it...I liked his arc for the most part, just wish they would have spent a little more time exploring WHY he didn't want to die, what his real motivations were beyond that. Something about the legacy of Oscorp, wanting to use the resources somehow, etc. It was a little too thin. One more scene could have fixed a lot of the character's issues.

But honestly, I didn't even care that Norman died...he was that good.

I LOVED DeHaan's Harry Osborn/Green Goblin. Franco was always the pretty boy; the James Dean-type but never threatening and by "SM3" he was goofy.

DeHaan killed it in this movie and I want to see more of him and Cooper together as the two Goblins working together. :yay:

Anyone else love it when he whistled the Jeopardy theme when he broke into Oscorp with Electro?

Actually didn't catch that. Neat.

Probably because I've never really watched Jeopardy, though. :sus

Yeah, I loved it, and when he would become this cocky, smug prick to the board members. Some people may not like that direction, but it felt very Harry-esque of "I'm better than you." Franco had that but he was more of a movie star with the role; DeHaan's Harry was more this kid born into wealth, prestige, and fame; a trust-fund baby, but lacked any real relationship with his dad or anyone except Peter.

He seemed like he cared for Peter and his friendship, but through that desperation and frustration, it was like, "You're no longer my friend and brother. You're just an ******* standing in my way and I want you to suffer and everyone you love to suffer."

It seemed too to me in the elevator scene with Gwen that he thought she was cute/flirting with her.

Caught that. That's why he continues with, "Bonus round!"

I wanted to come in here and praise DeHaan's work as Harry. Deb Scott dressed him perfectly, and I loved his aesthetic. He played the prissy boy so well, but can also get warm with tones like when he was with Peter.
And man, by the time he gets kicked from OsCorp, his performance goes top notch. Loved his Goblin, too. It's so short, which is unfortunate, but you can see it really coming out, INSIDE the clock tower while on the gear with Spidey.

Oh I loved the elevator scene! Showed such a separate side to his Harry. I'm still trying to figure it out.

Dan is way more intimidating in the role of Harry but also had that great friendship bond with Peter. Not to compare but I agree with those that said Franco's Harry was never intense or intimidating Dan.

Nice to see that a lot of you guys loved Dane's Harry, I feel the same. He pulled off a layered Harry so well, he's happy to see Peter but there's still so much going on underneath the surface.

Dehaan did a great job. The script's new twist on the character was ALL wrong, but he made me almost not even care. Wish we could have gotten MORE though...

Seriously wish that this film had centered around his character as the villain, excising Electro completely. Could have been some really strong, compelling stuff...

DeHaan is my favourite thing now!

Great Harry. Great Goblin.

I want more Dane.

while seeing Rob Walker´s and Jeremy Jahns´s (see his spoiler talk) arguments here i have to agree with them you DON´T shoehorn Spider-man´s biggest foe at the end of the movie!, Rob said it best GG before the big scene(you know what i mean) fought spider-man before,he did horrible things before and knew spider-man, he was fully developed, so when THAT happens it has WAY MORE impact than it should here, that´s why i feel, yeah GG was wasted horribly here...almost Venom level of wasted

Yeah DeHaan was awesome and one of my favorite things of the film. I know Cooper killed it with little time that he had in the movie...so Goblin like. But I seriously wouldn't mind if we get more Harry as Green Goblin.
