The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Dane Dehaan IS Harry Osborn

I thought he was very scary as the Goblin. His appearance was a very dramatic part of the film, unlike the Electro fight which Peter actually treated as a joke (with his commentary, such as when he replied to Electro's claim that he would become a god). The Goblin fight was really the first frightening conflict in both movies combined, because not only was the music intense, but Peter had to prevent himself from being choked to death while "protecting" Gwen at the same time. Really I don't see all the hate for him as a villain

Dehaan did well with uh material given to him. He's held back by the fact that the film does a bad job of showing his transformation into evil. That was one thing the Raimi films did better, especially since they had Harry in all of the movies and plenty of time to develop.

The Goblin fight should've been longer I think too.

I think Green Goblin was meant to have a smaller role as a villain, and more so the origin of Harry becoming GG. With that said, I'm fine with the fight length, but wish GG had more screen time as a whole. In the trailers and some BTS stuff, you can see that there was a scene where he destructs OsCorp.

That scene was dark and a great scene.t: Harry was showing no mercy, really shown he had gone the deep end. Shame it was cut.

Teekay, could you describe the scene more. That is the one I am the most interested about. Especially, in the sense that DeHaan was so amazing and from how you describe it here, it sounds fabulous.

The one thing I didn't really like was how altered Dane looked as the goblin. His voice was no where near the same, his hair was blown back and all super sayan looking. I just felt like the image of goblin was a little weird.

But I do feel like Dane did a fantastic job as Harry. He is excellent at playing the shady evil guy in movies, such as Chronicle that he was in. He was a great choice for cast.

I completely agree with you. At first it seemed like they were going to have him dead, which would have been extremely disappointing.

If Dane had died I would've killed Marc Webb.

I love his GG so much. His Harry was better, but I really want to see more of his GG.

i though dane was amazing (Pun Intended) as harry/GG
i loved that scene at the power plant when he first arrives then just in his eyes/expressions u can see the wheels in his head turning as he connects the dots

his harry was great too, definitely looking forward to seeing more of him in future installments

I guess that's what Dane was referring to when he said the first test had more of a cartoony look.

Maybe the transformation will go further in the next movie and he could end up looking something more like that.

I honestly prefer the final product of Dehaan Goblin. The only thing that would have made it really fantastic, is if he would have had green skin.

His final look was more disturbing, which I liked best.

The point of it was, the serum was mutating his degeneration. So for him to look like that above, wouldn't have made much sense.

I imagine him to look creepier by the next one.

The goblin was indeed very creepy, just a hood would make that iconic look from the comics. And hopefully he'll use more bombs in the sequel.
