I never had a problem with Magneto's control over the sentinels. He clearly studied the heck out of those blueprints. His complex machine in X1, and the way he reprogrammed cerebro in X2 showed he is some kind of a genius. He's just not too showy about it like Beast or Tony Stark.

Actually Magneto is VERY "showy": the guy lifts stadiums and Golden Gate Bridges for fun. And then he has the nerve to make a grandiose speech about it on TV every time.

$697.3 is not far from $710.7 million.

The XMen are back. In full force. I would've never dared to think this would be the highest grossing cbm of 2014 ww. But tbh this has a lot to do with TASM2 underperforming.

Hmm I don't think so. Amazing Spider-Man 2 had three to four weeks for itself. TASM2 opened in April in most countries while Godzilla opened late in some countries like China and Japan. If Days of Future Past had 3 to 4 weeks for itself, who knows, it could be hitting the $800 million mark right now. And what if DOFP was released in IMAX too?

The Hollywood Report reported that its now in 702, I assume they counted the foreign numbers for Monday/Tuesday. Then the 8 million will come from the United States, so it will definitely beat The Winter Soldier's WW gross. Unless you think DOFP won't hit $230 million in the U.S.

Not only does $700m+ match my prediction, but the X-Men have really captured the minds of the GA. Who'd have thought a Marvel Studios production would be beaten (probably) by X-Men after all this time? So happy

I am pleased with this news. I saw this film 13 times in the theater--more so than any other film in my LIFE. I took friends, family and even one of my co workers to see it. It warms my heart that I wasn't the only one giving this film the legs it deserves.

only 6m difference with X3? wow wow wow, this is getting pretty close

We need to beat X3's $2.2m 6th weekend (shouldn't be too hard) but also it's $3.3 extended 4th of July weekend. If we hold up with projections we should make around $3.5m.

Due to this year's early memorial day, our extended 4th of July weekend wont happen til next week. But we should still see a nice bump.
