so what's the gross update of XDoFP?

Yep, Days of Future Past isn't even playing in my town anymore. Deadline says it's cume will be 123 million following this weekend. Ill take it and run.

I'm so losing hope now. Please let it reach $712 million.

So with transformers eating most of our audience, then will this movie have to crawl to $230 million domestically? At least this is still doing better than The Last Stand at this stage in the game.

Every major box office site has said X-Men will pass Cap 2 WW within a few weeks. As of now, it's already passed the $700 million WW mark. Most sites just don't give specifics until after the weekend has passed.

Not sure why some here are "losing hope."

I see TF4 taking a pretty massive drop next weekend as well

Because there's only a few theaters showing the film, prolly worldwide.

The movie should be at 708 or so after this weekend give or take. It should hit 712 by next Sunday I think.

No need to lose hope, it's a lock.

Now passing the Domestic gross of x3 on the other hand doesn't have a great shot and I could see you losing hope but even that will be pretty close

yeah, 710-712m are a lock.
720m not as likely, but the former, be can be sure about it

Why you are losing hope when the overseas numbers aren't even reported yet and when almost everything points to this outgrossing Cap 2, is beyond me.

230m is a likely final at this point because the 4th of July weekend is coming and there's still the dollar theater expansion. If it is close enough to X3 I won't be surprised if Fox did some pushing to get this over it, e.g double features with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and a longer dollar theater run.

Wow! Really? Only a few world wide? You know successful films like these stay in theaters for about 15 weeks before they close.

It JUST opened in Venezuela last week. I've read a few sites say it'll probably finish @ or just over $720 million WW.

I see.

In our country, I think it's gone.

Yes. In the USA, it's still playing on over 2000 screens

Deadline had this to say about DOFP on Friday:

By the way, Fox may just end up with the highest cume for a summer movie with X-Men ending up somewhere around $235M-$238M domestically in its run. So the Wolverine could end up slashing the lizard and the spider. (Captain America opened in early April).

I don't know about it topping the summer box-office, with Transformers and with the possibility of Apes and Guardians breaking out, but I am in agreement with their final of ~$235 million.

The filmd could still outgross winter soldie but I don't think it will outgross the last stand domestically.

It's impossible for it to beat Cap TWS and not TLS as TWS is higher than TLS.

DoFP may outgrows Cap WW, but it must do more than 256M to outgross Cap domestically.

DOFP gets WW
Cap2 gets Domestic
ASM2 gets Overseas

Everybody is happy.

My prediction for this year's superhero movie box office ranking was off. I thought it was gonna be this way:
1. Spidey 900mil (300-600)
2. X-Men 700mil (250-550)
3. Cap 600 mil (200-400)

For me, Spidey definitely disappointed, X-Men matched expectations, and Cap exceeded expectations.

I would be careful not to overestimate the latest Transformers film: it has a disgusting 18% Rotten Rating on RT. Even the Hype's own front page poll has "0 out of 10" as the number 1 rating from viewers. Everyone I know is saying "save your money". In other words, this film is going to die very quickly.

Days Of Future Past will dip a bit while audiences figure out how s***ty Tranformers is, and then it will rebound like Logan did from that damn lake in Act 3. :funny::up:

After 4 films the only thing the GA will figure out is that this is still one of their favorite franchises, and that critics don't matter at all in the grand scheme here. It got an A- Cinemascore as did the last. They like these films. That 0 is followed by a 10 on the SHH poll. It's love and hate with fanboys, but the GA brings the love every single time.
