Days of Future Past 'Days Of Future Past' BOX-OFFICE worldwide prediction - Part 4

On the bright side hopefully the success of GOTG will make FOX more confident to introduce more cosmic things into their universe. They have Galactus and the Shiar' Empire to use if they want. If FOX wants this franchise to make over 250 domestically, they need to keep the quality, broaden the universe, and up the spectacle. DOFP imo was an attempt to increase the international audience and bring some new interest domestically. Apocalypse should be more geared to general audiences domestically in order to bring in the money domestically.

I'm taking my nephew to the Marvel Universe Live show tomorrow, and seeing GOTG on Sunday. Quite looking forward to both. Because it's fine to like the Marvel stuff too.

Exactly, if GoTG is a success like it seems it will be then maybe that will mean FOX start to think about a decent silver surfer film is possible with audiences accepting more fantasy/sci-fi comic book movies.

Thats ok Danoyse I dont think we have to pick a side, at least I didnt sign anything that says I have to Lol :woot:

We the Fantastic Four reboot reboot to be a success before we get the Silver surfer.Rise of the silver surfer underperforming is what killed earlier attempt to do a Surfer film.

Well technical X-Men,SPider-man,Avengers,Fantastic Four,Daredevil,Blade, and Gotg are all marvel characters.

I have X-Men,SPider-man,Captain America,Thor,Hulk,Iron man,Avengers,Fantastic four,Daredevil, and Blade Comics In my collection to prove it.

Be brave and check out the FF board if you think there Is nothing to what I say.

My disintrest In GotG is due to never reading the comics and not liking the trailers and Tv Spots.

231,5 mil for XDOFP DOm now. Sadly i dont see it matching the TLS 234,36 mil :(
2,9 mil away . So close but so far away ! We probably only go halfway for that 2,9 mil goal.

P.S. On a side note Trans4ormers AOE is at 984,4 mil ww only 139,5 mil behind Transformers 3 and still has some weeks before ending its run plus Spain , Venezuela and Japan where Transformers 3 made 67 mil. So yeah T4 probably gonna beat T3 by a few millions for the n7 spot of all time. Until Avengers AOU arrives anyways.

Paramount will make sure Transformers gets to $1 Billion

The same logic is those In FF board calling the FF reboot an immedete bomb
before seeing anything from film.

Putting aside any arguments about the film's quality, FF is sandwiched between two movies that automatically take away two key demos, and it's on the same weekend as a film that's from a brand that's a consistent strong OW grosser even with a perceived weak film AND owns another demo that FF desperately needs. The fanboy demo is already shaky at best. The franchise has little to no brand strength. All in all, it's a recipe for box office failure.

Well GOTG looks to beat even Cap 2's weekend, so it's definitely a breakout hit. It's a good film and a real crowd pleaser kind of film so I can't say that I'm extremely surprised.

Fox-hating Marvel Studios fans will always say something negative no matter how good the film will be, I mean remember the few posters who were constant pegging this as a disappointment, discrediting every success that was reported with reasons upon reasons just so they could feel superior with their superior movie studio? So let's just ignore them. What's most important is getting a good film which is what DOFP is, no matter what those haters wanna say. Not to mention DOFP already did rather well. Let them gloat. :)

One's been banned since then, so he can't.

GOTG looks like a freaking blast. I can't wait to see it on Sunday. Hell, I might see if we can take my nephew. He's only 6, but this looks like one he can watch in the theater. He has no idea who they are, we saw the commercial and I told him they were the Avengers' friends.

I'd rather see wildly successful superhero films than flops. It doesn't bode well for the genre when any of the films are bad.

At this point its too stressful for me to pick sides. X Men is always gonna be my favorite but that doesnt mean I wont enjoy the other Marvel movies. I only got my share on this fanboy rivalry once I got into discussions with the other fans but from 2003 to 2012, I didnt really mind which studio was making the film and right now I just want all Marvel films to be good and successful. I always consider myself as a Marvel follower. I was wrong with my predictions for gotg but I admit that and I cant wait to watch it tomorrow.

GotG should be fine for a six year old.

On the X-Men DoFP front, does anyone know when it might expand to dollar cinemas?

I don't understand why anyone has to pick only one studio?

I think my top 5 at this moment is TWS, Avengers, TDK, Spider-Man 2 and DOFP.

When I read peoples comment that Fox should give the rights back or people saying that they wont watch Marvel based films that arent made by Marvel Studios, I just couldnt help but to have a reaction. Trust me theres a lot of them. Especially a number of films from Sony and Fox were good and helped the state of cb films and it just rubs me the wrong way when people dont give them credit. But whatever Im done with this fanboy rivalry.

Do you mean [blackout]Rock Sexxton[/Blackout] ?

Agreed. I hate that. I can understand not watching movies based on not being interested in the characters but to boycott a studio out of loyalty to another is silly.

I think mine is probably Spider-Man 2, X2, Hellboy II, X-Men Days of Future Past and Iron Man

If we're talking comic book movies top 5 comic book movies, X2 still tops it for me. Numbers 2-4 I haven't figured out the order yet but the three movies in that position are Spidey 2, Avengers, and DOFP.

Fifth spot will probably go to Batman Begins.

My list would comprise of... The Dark Knight films, X2, DOFP, and The Winter Soldier.

We were going to watch Guardians today (actually the showing is currently going on), but something came up so we'll be watching it tomorrow. :yay:

Yeah my top 5 would consist of various franchise's, studio's and comic books from different universes.

Variety is good and all can be enjoyed in their own right, there's no need to "pick sides" but if somebody basically trys to troll on something you like its hard not to react to it to defend it, they should be ignored but I admit its not easy, its a a natural human thing to protect something you love.

Luckily we have pretty damn good mods on these boards that do their best at keeping us all safe and warm while we sleep to keep things civil, or at least attempt to :woot:

My top 4 are Dofp, X2, Spider-Man 2, 1st Class. For the top five, its between X-Men 1, Spidey 1 and Cap2. Also I've seen Gotg its alright, not just my type of film.

GotG Is going to beat DOFP's 3 day opening with 92 to 96 Million accroding to
new estimate taken from site that can't be named.

Based on opening it's posssable domesticly GotG Outgrosses DOFP.

My top 3 comic book priopties are 1:X-Men 2:Spider-man 3:Batman

My favorate 5 Comic Book films are Superman,X2,DOFP,The Amazing Spider-man,and Batman Returns

Among my least favorate are X-Men the Last Stand,Spider-man 3,Iron Man 3,and Batman & Robin

Preference of characters or being followups to films I like won't stop me from denoucing films If I don't like it despite some claiming I am blind fox lover.

I just saw GotG and I thought that it would be better, I thought that Gamora had superstrength and flight abilities? the movie was so bland to me, but that could be because I knew nothing about any of the characters. The movie theather was so empty though I dont understand how its going to beat XMen or were those numbers come from Im impressed.

Going to gotg just for the avengers tie in.

My top 5 no particular order-
Avengers, TDK, XM FC, DOFP, TWS

My top 5 comic book films (superhero genre) of all time are;

first 4 in no order (since all 4 are very strong movies and hard to put in a specifc order) and the weakest of the 5 in the last spot

1.The Avengers
1.XMEN-DoFP
1.CAP2 TWS
1.WATCHMEN
5.MAN OF STEEL

I havent seen GoTG yet but judging from all clips i ve seen so far it looks like a N5 material considering i very often agree with Rotten Tomatoes ratings as well.

Looks like this is not gonna catch up to X3 after all, this week -51% estimated 193k, X3 has almost caught up with 180k+ the same weekend. Not sure when is the dollar theater expansion. Hopefully this can get a Labor Day expansion as well.

Tranformers has offically made 1 billion WW.Even though we knew it was coming still hurts.

According to BOM GOTG made 94 million this weekend beating other summer films apart from transformers but falling short of beating Cap

As for DOFP it's not going to match Last stand domesticly. We will have to be sastified with being top grossing X-Men film overseas and WW.
