Dexter - Part 4

They did that with Weeds, too, just with some bleeps and black bars. They did that one like a week or two before, to generate some buzz. Odd to do that the night of the premiere.

pretty good episode. Vogel is a creeper.

MCH and JC bringing the goods this season

yeah not gonna lie that doctor creeps me out

probably because she's British:o

The doctor has a very sinister smile. Yet I strangely think she's on Dexter's side.

Vogel is both interesting and creepy. Very good start.

i must say that Aimee Garcia

Yes indeed. wow...

this and Ray Donovan will provide many good Sunday nights

Don't know why but Dexter just doesn't feel as exciting as it used to.

decent premiere.

Nice seeing Aimee Garcia looking good, but that Quinn storyline...it's early but i wouldnt be surprised if it ends like all of Quinn's stories. it seems like itll fthe writers never learn

It's because it's 8 seasons in. It went through like..several generations of shows, and now faces fresher stuff like Game of Thrones.

I dunno how I feel about this. They didn't even mention that Laguerta was MURDERED not just all a sudden dead. Nobody suspects Dexter, that's ****ing ********. Why isn't Angel ripping the city apart to find her murderer? And omg Dexter is SUCH a piece of ****ing **** human being! Why the **** did he take Harrison with him?! Usually it wouldn't have bothered me but the entire time all I could think was "You profound *****ebag!!! How are you gonna take your son to a possible homicide AS IT COULD BE TAKING PLACE??!! Seriously, I want everyone to find out and I want Dexter ****ing crucified. Or sacrificed or something. He doesn't make it out alive, that's all I know. And I love the Vogel character so far, it makes a ton of sense that Harry and her could have been friends and that he went to her out of desperation for Dexter. What I didn't like much were the previews for the season. So... Vogel is gonna start preaching to Dexter about how he's "perfect" and how psychopaths have a purpose in this world? Sounds cool, but incredibly contrived at the same time. Deb was a highlight but again, how is nobody suspecting A DAMN THING?! Laguerta's suspicion should have been enough for Angel and Quinn both to become suspicious of him but nahh, him and Deb just happened to not be at his party while it happened. Come on now. I'm holding out hope that this will be great, some of the stuff with Vogel sounds good, we shall see.

Because the case was "solved". Dexter made it look like Estrada and Maria had a shoot out and killed one another.......you did watch the last season yes?

Not so much the writers, but men like Quinn never learn. Quinn's various relationships are some of the most realistic aspects of this show.

I haven't seen this week's ep yet - but didn't Deb shoot her. Wouldn't ballistics have been able to recover the bullet and realize it belonged to Deb's gun. And if Dexter had picked it out, wouldn't that leave behind forensics that would blow the Estrada and Maria killed each other theory to hell.

And wouldn't Deb's call for Laguerta's location have raised a million red flags not to mention her and Dexter vanishing right around the time of her murder.

Just hearing what you guys are saying - it sounds like they totally copped out.

It was a pretty decent premiere, I thought. Bit disappointed we didn't get something on Hannah, hope that doesn't end up being a blue-ball.

Well, there is that, but to be honest, I feel the quality of the show has dropped a good deal. It's not quite a Weeds situation, where I was pretty much just watching to see what happens, but I haven't had much in the way of biting anticipation since season 4.

Well, to be fair here, Laguerta's suspension was pretty much completely dismissed and denounced by everyone. The whole thing with Estrada was probably seen as her going way too far, and then getting burned by doing so. I honestly didn't have a huge problem with it.

I think it was a very good premiere episode. All the pieces are there. That conversation with the doctor in the morgue, with that creepy lightning, was a high point.
I'm glad Dexter is back.

Oh, and here's my theory: I think that doctor talked to Hannah in prison (she's part of her psycopath/sociopath 'job', after all) and that's how she knows about Dexter. Because I think Hannah knew about Harry, right?

I personally dont care how "realistic" it is. To me, and a lot of people, it's unnecessary and not interesting.

I don't remember if he talked about Harry with her or not, but I would love this idea. It would make a lot more sense than this woman randomly being part of Harry's code all along without Dexter knowing.

Right, but even if Hannah didn't know about Harry, maybe that lady doctor talked to Harry when he was in the force, helping him in some case (like they said a couple of times in this episode), and she may have a little bit more information from Harry himself. She's old enough so the character could have met Harry.
And after examinating this latest cases, like the bay harbor butcher, maybe she connected the dots about what Harry told her long ago and what Hannah told her now.
Is the only logical explanation I can think of.

I dunno, him screwing Angel's sister is a whole new level of tension and danger to the show. You ever dated a Latino girl with one or more older brothers? That's peril, man. :(
