That training scene was better then half of the fights in S4 thus far. They did a good job with stunt work, incorporating Katie into it, A+.
I'm waiting on people to blame Laurel for disbanding the League.
Disbanding the League was an awful decision, but I wouldn't blame Laurel as that was Nyssa's decision. She could have easily reformed the League's Ways and teachings.
I agree. Laurel comes from a different cultural background with a basic knowledge of the League, what it does, and what it stands for.
All she knows is that "they kill people" therefore bad. But she doesn't have the perspective that Nyssa has.
Nyssa was the idiot here. I'm not completely sure if disbanding the League was an elaborate middle finger to Malcolm and her father. Which would be remarkably stupid, short-sighted, and impulsive.
Not Laurel's fault. She only gave ignorant advice.
Better yet, if Nyssa had kept them together and tried to change their ways and turn them into a global fighting force for actual good, and not the "good" they used to fight for she could really help and it could set up a cool Civil War storyline as the older members might disagree and rebel.
Now all that has happened is she released hundreds of assassins who are now rogue with minimal skills in things beside killing, will probably form assassin groups that will cause even more uncontrolled chaos across the world.
They would have much greater manpower and resources though, and would operate on a much larger scale than Team Arrow. They could still make a difference, but like Oliver they would be reactive to threats, whereas the LOA under Ra's were more pro-active. Their ruthless approach stopped threats before they happened. I still think a LOA operating in a similar manner to Team Arrow would make a big difference. The League doesn't have to be "good". They should be what they always have been. They replace evil with death. They take out the trash so that no one person, organization, or government has absolute power over the weak.
They're not good guys. But they're not bad guys either. Some of their dated traditions like sacking the Heir's city is certainly questionable, but even then it makes sense as the next Ra's has to be completely dedicated to the League's mission.
A "good" League of Assassins would be redundant IMO. Since that's basically what Oliver has going on in Star City.

I get that, but it's hard to be reactive when you're operating on a global scale, especially with Illuminati type groups like HIVE out there. They would have to fund and maintain undercover agents for indefinite periods of time for that to work. That's a tall order. But I guess it could work. Would be expensive as hell though. Even for the next Ra's Al Ghul, whoever that is.
The LOA should have been disbanded. It's a tool of destruction and death. The better option though would really have been to have all members of the LOA locked in prison.I agree. All she knows is that "they kill people" therefore bad. As if governments among other less reputable organizations don't do the same. She lacks the perspective that Nyssa has.

God bless you! God bless everyone!
Well they could still do contract killing, they would just have to verify that the target deserved to be killed before taking the Job, and then they would use that to fund their more Team Arrowesque work.
Isn't that basically what Merlyn was making Thea do anyway?
The right thing to do isn't shortsighted.Short-sighted opinion is short-sighted.
