There were some fun moments, like when Clark earned the nicknamed here of BDA (Big Dumb Alien).Wow glad I wasn't interacting with other fans back then
Yeah, I'm not sure why they decided to go that far. Part of me feels like they wanted to give them a history already, which is something that Daredevil is taking a better approach with with Elektra.I think she could have hated the hero at first, and it would have been ok, had they given her a better backstory. But that whole cheating on her and getting her sister "killed", just made it impossible for me to ever root for the pairing. And that was the very first Episode.
http://greenarrow.wikia.com/wiki/Black_CanaryThe worst blows of all would come when she learned from Connor Hawke that Oliver was killed (Green Arrow #101), and Connor was yet another of his offspring. Although Dinah and Connor later develop a close friendship, the knowledge that Oliver had kept his existence from her was painful.
Laurel had a tough time with the audience since they started the series off with her "hating" the hero and wasn't the funnest character.

For all the hate Felicity gets here, Chloe probably got it worse because her character was literally written to be this super popular character, despite starting off like Felicity, where she was not supposed to be a major role. But somewhere along the way, it felt more like Clark couldn't do anything on his own without her, thus making her the real hero. And people just hated it, but at the same time, there was a group of fans that worshiped her, including this one obsessed guy here at the time.
Seeing all this Felicity stuff brings me back to those days because I see them going down the same path, and it makes me fearful of what's to come, since the new producers of Smallville also got very paranoid and started tailoring the show to have more focus on her, despite the fact that was supposed to be a supporting character.
I just hope that when we get back from the break, we don't go down the same path as the second half of last season.

But part of me feels like that's just the nature of their relationship from the comics. They're not Lois and Clark. They've been on-again off-again. Ollie has cheated on her several times. We have to remember that the Oliver Queen of the comics is a very flawed character, and the show definitely tried to capture that early on.
I honestly think it was more to do with Katie Cassidy, in real life she seems a nice enough person but there's a harshness to her that rubs people the wrong way.
You have to remember that this goes both ways, you're seeing it only from the viewpoint you carry, there were plenty of people that obviously loved that show the way it was as it lasted 10 or 11 seasons, right? What you see as the right direction or I see as the right direction is not necessarily going to be the wider spread viewpoint. I also think it's quite noticeable that the line in here is people hated Laurel because she hated Ollie, yet he was the one in the wrong, and people gave Chloe **** and are now giving Felcity **** because they are smarter than the male hero........![]()
Please tell me you don't believe your own delusional tripe.
Calling people trolls and rabid comic nerds because of a difference of opinion is one thing, but allegations of mysoginy is a brand new low for you my friend.
I warned you last night, you keep trying to come at me with your **** and I wont warn you again.
No one is coming at you man. You're the one stooping to veiled accusations of mysoginy rather than debating with logic and reason. How about we agree to disagree.
Wow, that ad is stalker stuff!

I completely agree. Honestly, it almost would have worked out better had they just stuck with the Tommy/Malcolm swerve. Have Sara be the Black Canary of the show, instead of introducing her and setting her successor up for failure in comparison. Either that, or don't introduce Sara to begin with. And that I get, that they have a more complicated relationship, that they are on-again, off-again in the comics. But what they came up with for the show, that was just too much. The moment you get a family member killed during yet another cheating moment, any romantic future should be off limits.
And if it had to happen, then it should have happened a few seasons down the line, instead of having her drop her panties again in the very first season.
My ex and I discovered what would be a fun drinking game. Watch season 1 and take a shot everytime Laurel would appear out of nowhere, either before or after Oliver was talking to someone else, and just completely crap on him for something.Laurel had a tough time with the audience since they started the series off with her "hating" the hero and wasn't the funnest character.

But considering how the Barry/Iris/Eddie triangle was on Flash, I can't help but feel like that was more of a CW thing.
I don't know why it's important for you for opinions not to exist in an issue that is subjective.Yeah. it is the case.
The character isn't the pairing. Disliking one doesn't equal disliking the other.I think she could have hated the hero at first, and it would have been ok, had they given her a better backstory. But that whole cheating on her and getting her sister "killed", just made it impossible for me to ever root for the pairing. And that was the very first Episode.
Chloe was never written to be a super popular character. She was written as Clark's friend and helper later on in the series. Clark did do things on his own a lot. Particularly in seasons 1-3. The seasons after that became more or less mostly convenience stories, and having a single character be an exposition character was the most convenient way to do it. The producers in a season audio commentary, I think, said that they gave exposition to Alison Mack because they found that she was so good at giving it to them, which shows an early desire to have her character be that for the show. There were some fun moments, like when Clark earned the nicknamed here of BDA (Big Dumb Alien).

For some people women can't be harsh or not cutesy and funny.I honestly think it was more to do with Katie Cassidy, in real life she seems a nice enough person but there's a harshness to her that rubs people the wrong way.
I like to point out that my first choice for the grave is Oliver, with Felicity as the second, Quentin as the third. This is out of the main characters of course.I also think it's quite noticeable that the line in here is people hated Laurel because she hated Ollie, yet he was the one in the wrong, and people gave Chloe **** and are now giving Felcity **** because they are smarter than the male hero........![]()
Yup, those guys are crazy. What a bunch of weirdos.

There are plenty of scene that show chemistry and realness which Olicity has none of. Olicity has no real feel to the pairing. It looks fake.

I forgot how good Katie looked as a brunette, drop dead GORGEOUS. Though I love her as a blonde.
And watching those clips....Oliver was just doing what he did best, lie lie lie! The writers really did everything to drive that ship into the ground.
