Fantasy Disney Developing Live-Action 'Snow White' (Exclusive)

Gal was OK in moments, but very weak in others. The naive/fish out of water aspect in 'Wonder Woman' helped her massively.

Her villain song also wasn't bad in and of itself but it:

A) Did not truly fit 'The Evil Queen' as a character.
B) Came across as a little too Broadway camp.
C) Needed a much stronger singer to pull it off.

The Evil Queen always came off as an ice queen like Lady Tremaine in Cinderella. She wasn't so much sass, but cold and calculated.

Yeah... She was scary as heck in the original animated film. I never got that from Gadot.

The song was more Ursula/Cruella DeVil than anything else.

I hope she stays gone then.

There will always be someone more interested in casting hot over ability.

A lot of things made this movie flop - Gal's acting might be a part of it. Her being jewish and an Israeli didn't help, but Rachel Zegler'S behaviour has a big part of it, too, and so is what Disney done with this Live action adaptation.
Whoever blame it on Gal's acting only can not be taken seriously. Ever.

Didnt they cast her before Israel started a Genocide? Where peoples reaction back then was a loud GOD NOOOOOOOO?

Then she spoke about supporting a Genocide, then Disney cast a POC and the Anti Woke incels went berserk because they are dumb as rocks.
Then Peter Dinklage made a great point about the industry that only casts people with Dwarfism for roles as Fantasy Dwarfs...which 90% of the people didnt understood or cared because they rather listen to clickbait headlines.

There are many reasons why the film flopped...the imaginary pressure of Hollywood to speak against Israel is not one of those.

Man, people trying to find reasons why it flopped ignoring the obvious.

No one cares about a recreation of Snow White in live action. Snow White is not a top tier Disney character at the moment...

Israel, Gadot, and Zegler's politics weren't the reason for its lack of popularity really. Snow White just has a low ceiling in terms of popularity, and the trailers looked a certain way, CGI dwarves and all that didn't really move people into checking it out. If you can't get its core female and child audience interested there's no room to break out.

The Snow White hair truly did her no favors.

The people who do really like the animated film probably are particularly purists and those who think it is a little too dated also wouldn't be particularly interested in seeing a really different modernized near-INO version. And there would be some who would have middle ground view and be open to see it but there sure have been so many LA movies many of which middling to bad reviews, scenario that really would push people to think cost for going to movie theater too much if it's OK wait for streaming.

This in particular I don't think was the problem; the problem was Disney was late to the game. They had already modernized/etc. Snow White with their own TV show Once Upon A Time, and then there was Snow White and the Huntsman AND Mirror Mirror on the big screen.

Disney seemed determined to do as many of these remakes as possible, so this probably would have gotten made either way; but they seriously overestimated audience interest.

A re-make of Disney's Snow White was never going to be huge; but I think there were a few things they could have done differently so that it wasn't so much of a flop.
