Disney's Frozen - Part 3

Not sure if she's going to be just like Elsa or simply a Snow Queen character with a different name who's sort of like Elsa but not 100%. I don't think any of the Disney princess characters are completely like their movie counterparts. Elsa in the movie really didn't have many character traits besides being kind-hearted, afraid and misunderstood. There isn't much to work with as far as creating an interesting TV character on a weekly drama goes unless they change her.

I think the producers confirmed it is Elsa and not just the Snow Queen.

It's milking the cow, but it's not overkill. The idea sounds interesting, but didn't Once Upon a Time also do a Maleficent that looked nothing like Maleficent?

They did it before Angelina Jolie was cast. Is that the standard look?

Their Ursula looked pretty good in my opinion.

Yes, but when i think of Maleficent i expect them to make her look like Maleficent

The one in the show looks like just another generic evil witch queen

How is the show lately? I heard it's not as good as it was.

I can't wait too see who's going to play Elsa in "Once Upon a Time".

A little pre weekend update for Japan.

As usual, this week simply isn't dropping from recent weeks that weren't part of Golden Week.
Golden Week ended on Tuesday May 8 so here's how this week is going so far.

Last non GW weekdays

Monday - 1.095m (this week 0.95m)
Tuesday - .884m (this week .800m)
Wednesday - 2.115m (this week 1.950m)
Thursday - .832m (this week .850m)

Current total in Japan - 171.95m - roughly $1,198,250,000 WW

Iron Man 3 is $1,215,439,994. Just 17.2m to go, Frozen will be within 10 million by Sunday. IM3 will fall by next Sunday making Frozen the #1 movie of 2013 at last.

When IM3 put up such unexpectedly high numbers it was considered a lock for both Domestic and WW, but Catching Fire unexpectedly did even better than THG and took down Domestic while Frozen just steadily marched towards the WW crown.

Are people shipping Elsa and Supes? :wow:

The run in Japan truly amazing and defies explanation. The Saturday numbers are coming in higher than last Saturday and the weekend is tracking at 7.5-7.7m (last weekend was 7.2m). This is the 10th weekend and if those estimates hold Frozen will again be higher than it's opening weekend, and also higher than its 7th and 9th weekends.
Most of us were expecting a 10% drop from last weekend to about 6.5m, but I don't think anyone was expecting another increase.
Frozen will be over 180m by Sunday, Iron Man 3 will go down next weekend and at this point I don't see how Frozen doesn't pass Spirited Away as the highest grossing movie in Japan ever (in dollars) at 244m.
Frozen might even make a run at the attendance record,

This is the all time highest attendance list for Japan, Frozen's number is up to Thursday, it'll move up 2 spots to #6 by Sunday

Some genderbent Disney images came across Tumblr and Buzzfeed.

Can you imagine these characters' genders were bent?

Frozen didn't just hold well in Japan this weekend, it actually increased to 7.6 million.

Remember, this is Frozen's 10th weekend in Japan. It opened way back in March to 7.5m, the lowest weekend it had was last weekend at 7.2m so this weekend actually beats its 1st, 7th and 9th weekends.
While the opening weekend was merely ok, the late legs are astounding, Frozen's 8th, 9th and 10th weekends are the biggest respective weekends in Japan boxoffice history and Frozen has been #1 for each of its 10 weekends.

We only have estimates until hard numbers come in tomorrow, but Frozen has 179.6m to 181.6m in Japan so far.

Domestic and Worldwide totals:

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $400,523,000 33.2%
+ Foreign: $805,800,000 66.8%
= Worldwide: $1,206,323,000

Frozen will become the #1 movie of 2013 by passing Iron Man 3 no later than next Sunday

I think Frozen will probably dethrone Spirited Away as the highest-grossing movie in Japan.
