My choice is still Nikolaj Coster Waldau... But Joaquin Phoenix would be great.

NCW - its a testament to just how damned charming he is that Jaime Lannister can do unspeakably bad things and yet you still find yourself rooting for him. He's an excellent actor, to boot.

Nikolaj Coster Waldau is the only GoT actor that I think deserves all of the fan casting he gets. Really good actor. Would make a good Strange

I definitely don't want Phoenix playing Doctor Strange, but at least it would probably eliminate the inevitable comedy they'll try to write into it. I have never seen Richard Armitage in anything, but he looks the part.

Hes done a lot of TV stuff like Spooks (MI-5 in the US). He plays Thorin in the Hobbit films and was in Captain America as the Hydra agent that kills Erskine.

If he was cast in the role, he wouldn't be the first actor from Captain America: The First Avenger to play an entirely different character in the MCU. The actress who played Meredith Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy asked Captain America for an autograph in his USO days. But yah I'd consider Armitage as unlikely

Oddly enough I'm still pulling for Gyllenhaal, it'd be a different role for him and I think he'd be great in the role of an atypical hero. And he definitely has the A-list star power that would work to an advantage when it comes to an unknown like strange.

I think Doctor Strange works better if he's American, but I would like to see Lee Pace reused. I think Ronan was kind of a waste of him as an actor, and he was completely unrecognizable in the makeup, so I think they could get away with it.
