Doctor Strange Casting Poll **NEW** - Part 1

In all seriousness, what about Luke Evans as Dr.Strange?

To be honest, he is one of the people I would pick for Strange but it really depends on when his next role, Eric Draven in The Crow, is going to be filming. He's been linked to this project for some time so I'm pretty sure he will not just drop out of it if a scheduling conflict is bound to happen.

The Crow eh? Thats one of my favourite CBM, no scratch that, movie, of all time. Lets hope they do a good job on the new one.

Gonna be tough to beat Brandon Lee as the Crow for me. Man, I lived and breathed that movie. Not just because I'd read the comics but because I'd followed Brandons career from day one. Goes without saying that what happened to him was a tragedy but (had he lived) I reckon the Crow wouldve propelled him into the A list. Who knows where he'd be now? He was actually a very talented actor.

Yes, i agree with all of this.

Man my dream situation for luke evans is for him to drop out of the crow and get cast as strange and for JGL to replace him on crow.

So does the Sherlock announcement put Cumberbatch out of the running?

I'm assuming it does.

I like the idea of Evans as Dr. Strange. Is that Crow movie still happening? I thought I heard it was up in the air now. I hope it just falls apart. I'd love to see Evans in a CBM, just not that one.

Yeah, he has a perfect look for it. My top three would probably be:

1. Luke Evans
2. Pedro Pascal
3. Jared Leto

Knowing Marvel, this is probably going to be some totally left field choice that no one expects but it will make total f***ing sense

I could see someone like Jake Gyllenhaal winding up with the role. So my cats would be

Dr Strange-Jake Gyllenhaal

Clea-Mia Wasikowska

violent cop/zatoichi as doctor strange mentor would be so cool.

Not that I'm sure Marvel would actually do this, but for a left-field choice anyone like the idea of Peter Dinklage? I know he's the hot thing now and could get oversaturated, but I think he could pull it off (assuming his scheduling would allow for it).

Peter Dinklage as Strange? So now he'll be strange and short?

Yeah, I'd genuinely think nothing of it if Strange was a dwarf - though I know for damn sure a lot of the fan community wouldn't spring for it; just gauging a theoretical reaction here.

I wouldn't be against it. But then, I wouldn't be against Tilda Swinton playing Strange, and not as a gender-bent version.

Its really shallow of me I know ... but I would never want to see Peter Dinklage as Dr. Strange or any major Marvel hero that comes to mind, even though he is a good actor.

Now if they ever do an Alpha Flight project in TV or film, I hope they drop a wheelbarrow of money on him and get him to play Puck.

I feel the same way. It's odd how Dr. Strange is subject to very diverse fancasting, which is unusual for this kinda stuff. From British to Hispanic to Asian and now dwarves & females, he has a very broad appeal, casting-wise.

So I have to leave the computer to walk around and do "stuff" at work, and this keeps poking at me. So why couldn't Dinklage do a good Stephen Strange? I now actually have decided he could pull it off better than a lot of the other fan picks I have read so far. I would rather see him in the role rather than Cumberbatch or Leto. But I stand by the rest of my original thought, because it would almost be a parody if he were to play someone such as a Moon Knight or a Wonder Man, etc.

You aren't wrong.
It's odd to think of strange as a dwarf.
