Don't Hate The Hater, Hate The Hate! - Part 13

I hate the feeling of wanting so badly to write this story I've conceived, but not knowing how to start it. Writers block can go to Hell!!!

that's usually how I write.

I'll have a scene in my head, write out the scene, and then how everything got to that point just sorta comes.

I hate being late for appointments, especially if it's one I've been looking forward to for quite some time

I hate the comments section of pretty much any web page.

Talk about primordial intellects.

I hate it when posters write overly detailed descriptions of what they think a movie will or should be like.

Speculating and guessing is one thing. But when somebody writes out a 9 paragraph block detailing every scene and dialogue, do they really expect people to read that whole ****ing thing?

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's a particular type of supposition too. It's not just "oh, I wish themovie would achieve this thematic element or that ultimate meaning", instead it's like a minute by minute description of exactly what they want the movie to be - which is both ridiculous considering there's no way anyone who didn't read their post could be that specific.

And generally 70% of the ideas they have are the most sophmoric and senseless concepts possible. "I would like them you find out.that Have Solo and Chewbacca are brothers, so then everyone in Star Wars can be related!"

...are you 5? Seriously. :o

I hate that 50% of my students - all of whom are in college - write at what MUST be the 8th grade level.

I've noticed a similar trend. Having to peer reviews papers in some of my English classes is painful. I had to go over one classmates paper in my English 202 class that was so poorly written that I could of sworn he had a 7 year old write it for him. I've also noticed that some schools are kind of working around these sorts of poorly written works by student who don't know any better, rather then focus on getting the student to the problem academic level. It's just horrible.

I hate how people always ask me to do some drawing or painting for them, but when I tell them I charge, I never hear back from them. Since I'm just starting out and am still trying to figure out what fair pricing is, I try to keep it at a rate that would be affordable for others, yet I always get told by others about how the would charge or pay about two to three times as much.

I agree.

Spend time planning it like all good writers do :o

I hate how we recently had our bathroom renovated early last year, and now, the people who moved in the apartment above us recently, had some issue with their tub so water has leaked down has flooded the walls. This is just one of the many issues we've had since they moved in during the summer.

Oh I've done extensive planning. I have it outlined and I've filled a bunch of pages of a notebook with my planning. I'm just stuck on wording.
I know the feeling :( how about just start? Sounds blunt, but it's the best way. You can always go back and edit.

That's what I've done. I'm very sloppily moving the story along and I plan to go back through once the structure is finished and fill in some of the gaps and whatnot. My biggest issue is it's historical fiction, and I hate inaccuracies. I keep stopping to research dates and setting and the like.

I'd stop trying to write then and do some more research.

Oh I am. I've already been to the library today and I've scoured the net looking for just enough information to lend credibility to the story.
