Don't Hate The Hater, Hate The Hate! - Part 13

I hate that today is my day off, and my manager keeps calling me! It isn't for anything major, just small questions.

That and I don't know what I am supposed to work tomorrow because the schedule has been changed like 5 times. So I will have to call *them* later this evening. What a restful day off.....

Turn off the phone & just in check in later in the evening to check your schedule.

I would if the person I had to call to get my schedule from wasn't the same person who has been calling this morning. But they are, lol.

I hate when people ask you a question and clearly are not listening for the answer. At lunch today, the server literally asked "for here or to go" three times.

On a related note, yesterday I went to a burger place & order the meal I wanted, clearly requesting little ice on the beverage, & lo behold that damn thing resembled an iceberg in a cup. :cmad:

I feel your pain. At lunch I wanted to ask the girl after the third repeat "Seriously?!?!?"

It always pisses me off when I am giving them the answers to all of their questions, slowly, deliberately, so that they will hear and have time to write it down. And I swear, they will turn around and go through every damn question....

Small, Medium or Large: I already told you small...
What kind of drink: I already told you, Coke Zero...
Mayo or Mustard: I already told you Mayo...
Tater Tots or French Fries: I already told you French Fries...
For here or to go: I already told you TO GO...

It drives me nuts, it is like they are freaking robots not humans.

These people are working in fast food. They're clearly dead inside. They're the last people you should expect top notch service out of.

I WORKED fast food for 3 years....I was never that dead or dumb. I think that is what makes me so mad, I know that they can be more professional.

I may not work with food, but I do work in retail, so I can tell you first hand that that is very accurate lol As much of an ass as it may make me appear to be, I'm there for a paycheck, I honestly don't give a sh** about the customers 87 % of the time.

Same here - It really isn't that difficult to ask a question and listen to the answer.

I hate when people confuse "lose" and "loose" in text. Makes them seem so damn stupid.

Oh: I hate that it's almost the end of the semester, but I can't focus on my work. All I can think about is getting back to my wife on the mainland.

It's funny because I was watching a news story earlier about proposed plans to extend the school day for students, and they were showing viewer reactions against the idea via tweets and facebook posts, and there were so many spelling and grammatical errors that it seemed really ironic.

I don't know if we need longer school days. But at this point, we do need longer school years. There's just too much stuff to cram into kids now.

I hate when my mother is right. She swore I'd love the movie Midnight in Paris and I swore I'd die before I'd watch it. I watched it tonight. The ***** was right. It's an excellent movie.

I hate when people call their mom a *****.

I actually saw another unrelated story earlier asking whether it was too early to send a child to school at the age of five. And it makes me think that after a while, most kids don't want to be at school or even college. I think a lot of people only go to school because they have nothing better to do, or because they are being forced too by family, and it makes me wonder just how many people would go just for the education.

Personally, I loved school and the idea of learning and being around others, but I hated the work outside of school, even though I understand why it is necessary. I stopped by my college to pick up my diploma earlier today and I really did miss being in a classroom.

yeah, I think kids, parents, and teachers would have no problem with longer school years if it meant the end of homework, or at least most of it.

Homework is needed :o it's a pain in the bum though...

No, I don't think it is. In my geometry class, the teacher always had us do our 'homework' at the end of class. We'd work together, help each other out, and it would still stick (partly because the best way to learn is to teach others).

Add another month to the school year, and you'll find that classes can become more decompressed, more can be taught, and homework can be drastically reduced, if not eliminated. All that would probably still be done at home would be the occasional paper. And maybe a weekly assignment that's a refresher on for what was covered during the week. Not this daily stuff in a half dozen subjects.

Oh wiegeabo we always clash :o it is needed. It shows you can do the work by yourself, independently. It's good practice for tests. I do agree that you shouldn't get it daily for every subject however.
