Don't Hate The Hater, Hate The Hate! - - - - Part 16

Eh, it's fun being a werewolf once you get a hang of it. I personally love being one.

Argh, now this really pisses me off. Like you said, it can be useful in an emergency situation. But with the way that kids have been these days, its bad because it seems like they're growing up faster and are doing things at younger ages that they shouldn't be doing. I have an 8-year old niece who has her own kindle and iPad and she's watching mature shows on Netflix and, despite the fact that she still sucks her thumbs, she tries to act and dress like she's a teenager. It really gets me upset because parents are not doing a good job at teaching their children the qualities that they're going to need when they become an adult. Not to mention you have all these young kids on Facebook now, and things like cyber-bullying and suicides have been on the rise because of this.

And if you want to hear the whole rock = cell phone bit, here's the clip. It's from an old podcast called the Gamespy Debriefings. It has foul language, so here's just the link. It perfectly sums up how I feel about social technology.

Those guys are spot on. There's just certain attitudes people are picking up on that are strange to see. The use of "lol and "heh" has always been suspect.

Also I agree that you can't leave an eight year old with this type of access and not monitor what they are doing from time to time. I dated a woman whose daughter started talking to strangers on a chatroom that used avatars that looked like fairies. She just wanted to accessorize a character, but we found out she was giving relationship advice to adult men.

How people say "real father" or "real mother" instead of "biological" it just, it's very triggersome. Both are real! It's just that one isn't there...

I hate adoption. Don't give the kid a new surname, keep his/hers with him/her
If you care to raise the kid(s), raise 'em

Some of you guys have some weird pet peeves (and I'm not even talking about werewolf one).

If you mean the adoption thing, all I'm against is giving someone a surname that isn't theirs, I don't like confusing identities

Yeah, I know I went through that phase initially, but in the last couple of years, I've made it a real effort to write/type everything correctly, in terms of spelling and grammar, no matter what its used for. It's just good practice, especially if you're planning on entering the business or professional world where it really matters.

And yeah, my nephew is 12 years old, and he's become one of those annoying Call of Duty kids in the past couple of years. It was so weird to see the change from him playing a Mario game to playing Call of Duty online and blasting rap music while he plays it. I'm just so glad he doesn't have a headset, so he doesn't directly interact with people. But I feel like it has really hindered the growth of my brother's kids because they both talk like they're 3 years old, whereas my sister's kids, who are 4 and 5 years old, seem much more put together and they don't have any devices or consoles or anything.

Would you prefer a vampire or zombie bite? :p
Thinking of these, they're worse than the Werewolf bit
Unless I'm written by Joss Whedon and seek redemption, then the vampire bite is the best, or most tolerable :p

I've adopted my biological name as my facebook username and considering using it as my middle name in job credits. It was seriously a rough blow though when I found out I had a whole different name. I basically see myself as nameless, my name never really seemed to be right. My biological name doesn't seem to be right. It is confusing.

And Wayne, hard to expect that many biologicals (those who grew up with their biological parents) to understand this. It's not weird. We're just not the "perfect" image people have had of us in culture in the past of not caring. And people can be really assinine when it comes to these things. People say things to adoptees that they would never even dare or think twice about saying to someone who's parents died when they were young and were moved over with an aunt or uncle. Many of us know that we're pretending and we don't need that pointed out to us. To me, as the kid, I just want to go on pretending that I'm their son and someone saying "real" to me comes off like someone saying what I have isn't good enough or that I'm different which does sting. To my adoptive parents, that undermines everything they've done for me and that hurts them. The bluntness in the way society goes about somethings is weird.

Did you just call me Wayne? That's interesting, and amusing

People can be pretty cruel, I hate it when the cruel surfaces faster or stronger than the decent side

The second part was to Parker WAYNE. And yeah, I think it partly has to do with not knowing things due to the way society viewed it compared to how people are starting to view it.

The best example of this is the evolution of Superman. He originally started out as an adoptee that didn't need to know his roots. Then he became an adoptee in search of his history and who he is which led to the Fortress of Solitude, yet there was really no angst behind it. Then you have SMALLVILLE which really explored the angst about it in a couple of their key episodes. And now we have MAN OF STEEL which seems to be taking this a step further.

It does bother me though, for example when I told a friend once that I wanted to see if I could find my biological parents they retorted "why would you hurt your adoptive parents like that?" which stung. Also many adoptees feel the burden that if we do search we have to keep it a secret from our adoptive parents, in fear of hurting them. When really, parents can have six kids and that doesn't mean they like one better than the other - they just have six kids, there's no need for anything beyond that level of thinking. It's the same thing.

So I see it as people are just largely uninformed.

I know I've said this here before, but I really hate how me and my mom can never do anything with my brother without him bringing his wife and kids with him. I swear, a simple back and forth trip always ends up turning into a day long adventure because we have to make stops for all of them first.

It seems that the gnats, the blood-sucking flies, and mosquitoes are worse in my area this year then they were in preceding years. I like to walk every day, but, have been unable to do that, due to the insects being out when I walk - when the heat is bearable. As a result, I have been cooped up inside of the house, and have been on edge, due to all of the energy I have inside, waiting to be released.

Does Apple support Flash yet?

No,but blip usually works for it (I don't know what kind of media player software blip tv uses). Occasionally a video wouldn't load and the window would stay black, but other videos would. But for some reason lately none of the videos are loading, YouTube works fine, and blip works on my laptop, though I prefer to use my iPad as my laptop is slow as hell.

I hate how rude some of my coworkers are

I hate when people try to force you to make a decision when they're not the ones who will be stuck with the consequences later on. I also hate when you do what they say, and then hear thew later on say that you shouldn't have done it in the first place.

I hate it when I seek to make one letter in Caps, the letter straight after it is typed in cap as well

so you hate your fingers for being too slow off the shift key?

:p

Pssh, who needs fingers anymore anyway? Siri, where can I find a hospital to surgically remove my fingers? :o
