Don't Hate The Hater, Hate The Hate! - - - - - - - Part 19

And my favorite is when the customer is so fed up with the service that they threaten to never go there again or close their acct entirely, like I'm supposed to say (sarcastically) "Oh please don't leave us, we need the business"
What gets me are the ones who say they'll never come back, but end up coming back a few days later to shop. There's this annoying guy who'll come into my job once in a while trying to sue the company, with a lawsuit letter from 2000, but will still come in there to shop.

I don't understand why some people think wearing a carcass on their back that was ripped off an often still-living animal somehow is supposed to make them look "classy".

It has quite the opposite effect.

I've seen a video or two with animals being skinned and it's ****ing horrible. It's one of those things where I don't give a damn that some of these guys are doing this as a living to feed their families...they need to stop or die.

Well, what kind of shoes are you guys wearing? Do you feel bad when flying on a plane, since most seats are leather?

Anything out of context can be made to look bad. Especially when it's something already controversial. It doesn't take much for some animal rights group to grossly exaggerate and misrepresent things to justify their own ends.

Well I don't wear croc or snake skin boots so those more 'exotic' animals are out. I wear normal tennish shoes...leather...from cows. See my reply below about other animals and how they're handles in other countries.

I can't post the video on here but it's not something those psychos over at PETA edited and is "out of context". It shows some guys grabbing Tanukis(From what I can remember that was the right animal, basically a raccoon looking thing that inspired Mario's suit in Mario 3)from their hind legs and slamming their heads into the dirt to get stunned so they won't attack. Then they proceed to skin them while they're still alive(apparently there's some horse **** about skinning animals alive over there, it keeps the fur in better condition. Something to do with oils). Last part of the video closes in on some of the ones that are completely skinned(head to foot)slowly moving around in agony.

So because some people abuse animals and skin them this way, all animals are abused and skinned this way? What they do is not accepted everywhere and is not a common practice. Saying that it is cruel and inhumane is right but applying it to every instance is not.

edit: I see it was a direct response to Schlosser85 over that. I thought you were referring to the overall industry. I definitely agree it's deplorable. There are a lot of customs people adhere to like this that I'm not fond of and can't wait for them to be abandoned.

A few things I just love (sarcasm) about my job:

- when people act all indignantly shocked about a price that's been exactly the same for years, and I know for a fact they're regular customers

- when people think yelling at a cashier has any effect on prices or policies set by corporate

- how accusatory some people get when their card gets declined. Like we just erase their money off their card, or decline it and lie about their balance for ****s and giggles.

Ah yes. A favorite of mine is when a customer asks me a question, I answer their question, but they don't believe me... So they walk about 3 feet away and ask one of my coworkers.

And my favorite is when the customer is so fed up with the service that they threaten to never go there again or close their acct entirely, like I'm supposed to say (sarcastically) "Oh please don't leave us, we need the business"

Some people live in a fantasy world where business are Mom and Pop organizations that live and die for each customers happiness... When in reality, most retail stores are corporate chains that only care about your money, your satisfaction is inconsequential. If I only make $10.55 an hour, and I don't care about you threatening to never shop here again, I can guarantee the millionaires who own this company aren't losing any sleep over it.

Also, I hate how hard it seems to be to leave retail. It's like you want to leave because you hate the job but at the same time you're at least working.

Been in retail hell for 9 years this September. I got close to getting out once.

Suggest beefing up the store security

That implies that there's any security to begin with. Spoiler: There is absolutely none.

I'm ok with some things but not others.

Like cow leather is "okay" with me since the cow is already being used for food. Might as well use the rest of it, you know? The Asian in me hates waste. (I used to work in molecular biology, and even one vital component of cell "food" is fetal bovine serum, and that also is a byproduct of the beef industry. That was one thing my vegan coworker was okay in using. I mean, she had to to do any work. :funny: )

Fur I don't agree with. There is absolutely no reason for us to be wearing fur nowadays. Maaaybe if you're an Inuit or from a super-native former Soviet country with a ton of snow. But fur as a fashion statement? Just no. You know that the animal was only bred for its fur. Such a waste.

For me it depends on the origin of the fur. Some animals that are used for fur are also used for meat. Rabbits come to mind as the most likely to be used for their meat in addition to their fur.

Minks, seals (excepting inuits), foxes, etc. are not something I think should be worn.

I've seen the video he's talking about :csad:

It's pretty hard to get out of your head, and it's definitely not something that was "taken out of context".

When I saw what was referred to, I knew that wasn't out of context. It is however a common tactic of animal rights activists to misrepresent all of the industry as behaving that way which is why I initally said that.

My roommate thought it was a genius idea to foster a 12-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with a urinary tract infection and possibly an enlarged prostate that has to pee constantly.

My entire day off has been nothing but an endless rotating cycle of taking this dog out to pee every 45 minutes (all day long!) and listening to him whine every single second he's not outside.

And he still peed in our living room chair.

I'd rather be at work.

I hate my roommates sudden obsession with Veronica Mars. She's been watching it non-****ing stop on my TV, and gets enraged if anyone in the house talks. It's an awful ****ing tv show, probably the worst I've seen. I'm going insane!!!!!

Once again I get a movie in the mail from Netflix and the same day they put it up to stream as well. Out of all the movies on my mail in cue it had to be that one.

:cmad:

There's a few sites that have listings of what will be up to stream or taken down.

I need to check those sites out. This is the third time and it's become annoying.

I hate deadbeat bidders on Ebay, that bid on stuff I'm selling (or any other person is selling) & then don't intend to follow through with the purchase once they win the item. Often they never respond or give a flimsy excuse why they can't buy the item/s afterall. :cmad:

That happened to me a few times. Make sure to report them and Ebay will refund you the seller fees usually.

I had preordered the PS4 and after some thought realized I shouldn't be spending the money at that point in time so I listed it on Ebay. Some jackass bid on it and won but never responded to my messages after my deadline I give people to pay. I'm quite sure he was either selling his own and wanted to take out some competition or after he bid he got one for a cheaper price.

I hate morning traffic, what should be only 25 minutes to get to work takes me an hour to do so.
