Don't Hate The Hater, Hate The Hate! - - - - - - - Part 19

Public humiliation seems to be the in thing right now. You can't smack your kid anymore for being bad but you can make sure that they're embarrassed or years to come causing emotional distress and it's fine? People are messed up. I'd rather have gotten a private whupping than have what I've done broadcast for millions to see.

I received a number of butt whoopings growing up and I would prefer that over public humiliation but sadly in this PC day and age, people can get sued or arrested for giving their kid a couple smacks on the butt.

I hate this trend of parents exposing the punishment of their kids on the internet. Whupping their ass makes sense, but once they make it public it's going to make it really hard for those kids to go to school. There also is the fact that the embarrassment lasts far longer than necessary, and it's going to do far more harm than good.

Those parents are crappy parents. I know this is a generalization, but parents these days seem much more self-absorbed than when I was a kid. No social media back then and your upbringing was a private matter and you truly were the most important thing in your parents' lives. Now it seems parents care more about how many 'likes' they can get for their public displays of their children on social networks. It all seems a bit twisted.

it's the scarlet letter all over again, on a mass scale

I hate that my aunt is still a petty ***** so soon after my uncle died unexpectedly this January. She calls for a big Mother's Day get together, and then treats everyone else with the same pettiness and ire that has pushed everyone away from her besides the immediately family. I hate that I foolishly thought that she would at least change for a little bit, but I was naive to think that someone like that would learn their lesson.

When people in their 20's refer to there significant other as their "old man" or "old lady". When someone of any age uses that term, really.

It bugs the living **** out of me, too. It just puts a mental image in my head of some young guy hookin up with a grandma. It's kinda disgusting.

At the moment I that my car started overheating on my way to school this morning. I'm dreading the drive home.

I hate that the horribly overweight woman who sits in the cubicle next to me gives me flack about eating "chips and chocolate bars for breakfast." I don't eat those things for breakfast and if I want to have the healthy, low calorie chips from the vending machine as a snack at 10:00am, I damn well am going to do that.

I would love to give her flack for being too overweight and unhealthy for surgery and how she acts like a 5 year old when it comes to eating vegetables.

You should passive aggressively leave her a healthy snack on her desk when she's not looking.

Tell her to cover them in sugar and chocolate. :whatever:

Or suggest yogurt covered raisins.

I hate how just like over in certain forums at Blu-ray.com there aren't many fans to talk about horror films with...mainly due to a number of them having bad taste.

I love me some horror movies. :D I hate how there isn't another Freddy in the works.

I want another NOES film but at the same time I am not always sure it can be done without Robert Englund. The previous reboot was okay but it wasn't what I wanted either. Nothing against the actor, he just didn't work as Freddy for me though.

I kinda hate how the Hype's Horror thread is just reduced to talking about the same 3 old horror movie monsters over and over again.

It does get repetitive but at the same time there hasn't been a really good horror movie icon to take up a spot yet.

No one else besides Jigsaw has even managed to come close to the sheer number of movies the main three have done. And Jigsaw is kind of meh IMO anyways.

Hatchet was good, so was Candyman but neither of them is going to get the steam to take on Freddy, Jason or Michael.

Then change the topic. I just like talking about Freddy. :p

Well I did...I brought up a great horror movie (Afflicted) yet nothing changed. It's probably the best horror movie i've seen in recent years. It's kinda like a modern age An American Werewolf in London.

Exactly.

I bring my hate in this thread about a lot of so called horror movie fans(more like Slasher fans)and people come in this thread bringing up the same old, boring, been there done that(when I was in grade/middle school)convos and discussions about cheesy outdated slasher franchises.

Basically I came here to vent and the same bull **** that I'm venting about followed me in here. :csad:

Then I see an excuse it's because there's no new horror icon...lol. So people need actual icons to enjoy horror films?

Sorry for being a bit of a dick but it's my favorite genre since I was a little kid and there are so many good to great horror films out there(old and new)that straight **** on slasher films and are worth talking about.

Yes and no. Incase you missed it, I haven't been among those discussing endlessly back and forth in the horror thread and when I do watch a horror movie I bring it up in there. That it tends to go back to the same topics isn't something any one person can control.

I will say this, when everywhere you go you can't find what you're looking for you must be looking in the wrong place or for the wrong thing.

The one thing I didn't miss is in your other post is whe you mention that there's no new horror icons to talk about...

I'm sure I can find other sites to discuss horror films but I've been here so long I don't like posting on multiple forums...too time consuming having to jump around.

I know the mods don't like an excess of threads on the Hype but I think it would be nice to have a thread in the General Movies section specifically for slasher films.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I skip over the many posts on those three as well but that's how it is. There needs to be someone/thing to be the center of attention and "horror" is too broad a term so people gravitate towards the icons, all of whom happen to be mainly slashers.

I'm not as big a fan of the slasher side of horror, I prefer the more supernatural or alien side but there isn't enough of that (and besides the slashers, no real supernatural or alien horror monster to talk about) to keep people interested.

Understood.

I think I'm just babbling at this point. I hate that. :oldrazz:
