The Force Awakens Early Star Wars 7 Box Office Prediction Thread - Part 3

This whole Non-troversy is exactly why Suicide Squad will be PG 13. Fanboys are insane if they believe that Warner Brothers would leave money on the table. Deadpool is a smaller film, it can afford to not release in China.

I don't know if he is bratty, I'm just calling him bratty because of the petition. I'm probably being evil to the kid.

My folks never took me to the theater but I did watch Robocop and T2 on VHS when I was way under 17 years old.
I think my mother loved taking us to the movies. It was the only time I was quiet. :funny:

When I was a kid I watched stuff like Robocop, Terminator, Die Hard, Commando, Predator, etc. with my parents all the time. My mother was the one who introduced me to those films.

Even today, that's often how I get into stuff. I only got into Game of Thrones because she said I should watch it and bought me the first season DVD set.

To be fair to my sheltering parents there were 9 of us...so that's a lot of money that would be spent for a poor family.
Like you, my brother and I spent most of our time in front of the tv and VCR when it came to movies.

Yeah I watched all of those before September 24th 2001. So yeah I was under 17.

Strangely, my parents did want to watch Batman Returns before we were allowed to see it. That controversy was so silly.

My mother forced my father to take us to see Batman Returns as she worked. I never knew there was a controversy. What was it?

And yes, I too saw those all and more when I was like 4 and 5.

I think that it was too violent and sexual for children. I was like 8 in 92 and found out about how huge the controversy was years later.

Man, I remember getting Aliens and Predator toys as a kid. Even came with a mini comic. Did not quite realize how not kid friendly those movies were for quite some time. I don't quite remember my dad showing me those movies at the same age he showed by Jaws. (Man, talk about a way to give your 8 year old nightmares)

I don't think Darth was trying to get personal or anything, I think he just doesn't see why he should care about a petition from a bratty child and awful YouTube reviewer. I mean he can correct me if I wrong of course.

I don't think that they should market R rated films to kids, they shouldn't have toys in the children's section for R rated films. The 80's were kind of a looser time though so I'm mainly just talking about now.

Awful youtube reviewer? Now who could be behind-*page loads*

Oh god...not her again.

Snow has told me stories about her. I dare not watch the videos. I fear the stupidity would make me stop breathing.

You have a very cool mom.

My mom was the same way for me. Worked out pretty well for the most part asides from Terminator 2 being my first porno.

Interesting. My mom took me to see The Last of the Mohicans in theaters when I was 6. A violent R-rated film in which people are scalped and burned alive. We both loved it. Yet when she took me to see Batman Returns months before, she was appalled. I never really got what made it different to her (and never knew about any controversy), but when I asked her later, she just said she thought the Penguin was too gross. Now I wonder if that was just a cover answer, lol.

Well Kingsman and the Secret Service played in China so I guess it depends.

I think it creeps people out when comicbook movies have "mature" material in them because they see them as something for children.

Most comic book movies don't know how to handle mature themes. I think if they were better at it, like TDK, it wouldn't be such a problem.
