the possibilities are endless and I hope that Fox secretly has the shared rights for Namor and Medusa!

They don't and Marvel fought hard to get him back from Universal.

I hope you prefer Namor as a villain for the Avengers in Phase 4 where his main struggle is with the Captain America and Winter Soldier as friends who now oppose his revenge on the surface world.

Medusa is over with the Inhumans. She's at Marvel where she'll presumably be the main character of the Inhumans film in 2019 although she might show up earlier in Agents of SHIELD.

And I'm almost positive that Marvel owns Kang with the Avengers rights. He might be shared but there is no way that Marvel can't use him in some capacity.

Best case scenario, Marvel and Fox merge universes.

You made it sound like they have only two characters that they could introduce for the sequel and that is just not the case. They have enough characters to use for 5 to 10 movies.

5 to 10 movies?!

Oh man. Can't wait to see Fox's Fant4stic 7: Rise of Willie Lumpkin!

Ticket bought!

FF1: Doom

FF2: Mole Man

Silver Surfer spin-off: The Fallen One and Galactus

FF/X-Men crossover: Galactus and Surfer

FF3: Annihilus

Silver Surfer 2: Terrax

FF4: Lucia Von Bardas (Doom redeems himself)

Silver Surfer 3: Blastaar

FF5: Frightful Four (Wizard, Trapster, Mad Thinker, Molecule Man)

Silver Surfer 4: Reptyl Prime

FF6: Terminus

Silver Surfer 5: Obliterator

FF7: Psycho Man and Malice

Yeah... only 2 to 3 films.

Unless you mean Psycho Man secretly being Willie Lumpkin. That would be an amazing twist which nobody would see coming!

I already said this to you... but Universal never released a Namor film... so imo it was an easy transfer for Marvel to get Namor back... though the distribution is another thing.

Considering that Fox decided against giving those two back for a Daredevil extension, I doubt that Fox will give them back just for TV rights.

Marvel will presumably want Fox's merch rights back in full so they can produce merch and make a profit. Considering that the manufacturer and retailer also take a cut, it doesn't make sense financially to produce movie merch of the X-Men or FF if Fox is making risk free money and Marvel is operating at a loss.

Marvel would presumably want that first because they'd make the most cash off of it. Marvel also won't merge universes until the Avengers have already fought Kang, High Evolutionary, Namor, Korvac and MODOK (and adapt the Kree-Skrull War, Siege and World War Hulk storylines) since they won't need the X-Men or FF and can make a profit without them.

The merch rights deal will probably happen in exchange for the TV rights. I don't see the crossover between X-Men and FF occurring until Marvel starts Phase 4 at the earliest and want the Shi'Ar for Captain Marvel, Guardians and Avengers films but probably Phase 5 since the Guardians can fight Count Abyss, Captain Marvel can fight Moonstone and the Avengers can fight Kang before any of those franchises even touch the Shi'Ar.

Marvel won't merge universes until the end of Phase 5. If they're smart, they won't cut deals until they stand to gain something at the same time as Fox.

Lol the merch rights are sooooooo not valuable to disney. Because the x-men origins wolverine figures, and fantastic four movie merch peg warmed pretty hard. So hard, hasbro had a hell of a hard time shopping the wolverine legends line and x-men legends line last year that both became exclusives. None of the big name stores wanted the wolverine wave (which was full of well known characters (emma frost, rogue, cyclops, wolverine and sabretooth ) that hasbro had to bite the bullet, drop 2 figures and make it a comic store exclusive, and the x-men legends wave became a toys r us exclusive.

The first F4 movie made a good amount of money via merch, but the sequel did not. And rhis film does not cater to kids.

Add all that to the fact x-men movie figs never sold that well (the costumes never attracted buyers) and the comic ones always sold better (which says alot considering hasbro had a hard time selling those waves)

Right now those properties toy merch arnt worth a hill of beans.. im sure so many want a black suited sue storm, trashbag doom, scrunchie reed, and naked thing to play with... talk about boring toys

So why would Fox have Namor?

Where do you keep getting this merger of the Fox/Marvel universes from?

Namer's rights would not revert to FoX. Thats absurd. Namor was sold as an independent property.

This is way over optimistic bs... not only that but we wont have multiple heralds of galactus as films... at best, a silver surfer sequel would have terrax as a villain, but not for the f4...

no way will lucia carry a film, especially when you cant do her only good story.. secret war

blastaar works best in a film with annihilus, otherwise its redundant "villains of the n-zone

Trapster aint happening

Those surfer sequels sound terrible

my list would be like this

Ff1: Doom
ff2: Mole Man
ff3: Annihilus, Blastarr
ff4: Frightful Four with Wizard as the leader
ff5: Skrulls
ff6: Puppet Master, Psycho Man, Impossible Man
ff7: Silver Surfer, Terrax, Galactus

then add Doom in some of those films... Fox might not have Namor and the Inhumans but I dont think they are limited when it comes to villains. And I prefer Black Panther to be separated from Fant4stic, I feel like he has his own mythology so I dont mind.

Actually there was alot of behind the scenes negotiation thats still not 100% clear and still finishing to tweek. So yeah, far from "easy"

Compare that with the billion dollar selling Spiderman and we see why there was more eagerness to get a deal done and put Spidey into the fold. Thats some super loot. Fox is riding on expanding an Xverse which is why a tv series can help launch that. They want that show and are gonna have to come with the goods to make a deal happen.

Thats a much better list, and more classic feeling though i have no clue how moleman will work beyond his refrencing in this film. He so doesnt fit with the world they look to be establishing. Itd be like putting clayface in a nolan batman film. Very odd fit.

Also i think puppet master will only work if hes part of the frightful four

I dont know how will they handle Mole Man....but given on what I saw from the comics and the cartoons....theres a potential for a disaster-ish Godzilla-esque kind of scale that could work in film. And Trapster could work as a silent henchman.

Exactly. X-men tv rights for fantastic four/surfer rights are a pretty good trade, and quite fair, especially if this film bombs like projected

Lucia carried the prelude to Bendis's New Avengers all by herself. If she could be the villain for an event comic, she can be the big bad in an adaptation of 258-259 where Doom must reclaim his throne.

And what sounds so bad about a Silver Surfer origin story where we see him defeat the Fallen One to save Zenn La from destruction and become the new herald of Galactus and one where Surfer throws down with Terrax?

Also, I just like Terrax and Obliterator as villains. Why are the two of them weak in your opinion?

Its not weak, its just repetitive. You shouldnt do multiple films with one herald after the other. They're all galactus lap dogs.

And you just proved another point that lucia has no good story that doesn't involve the rest of the mu

FOX : We want to re-open up the 1993 agreement. How about we hand over our % of the merchandise for the FF films in exchange for TV rights?

MARVEL: Bleep You. Surfer.

FOX: Okay, okay. We'll throw in the X Men merchandise.

MARVEL: Bleep You. Surfer.

FOX: How about rights to the Shi'ar?

MARVEL: Bleep You. Surfer.

FOX: You certainly are a tough negotiator. How about our % of merchandise rights to the FF and X Men along with rights to the Shi'ar, Badoon and Brood.

MARVEL: Bleep You. Surfer.

FOX: (Sigh) Okay. Surfer.

MARVEL: Bleep You. All the FF rights.

Thats just throwing a bunch of random villains in FF films with absolutely no rhyme reason or logic whatsoever. You want to sell the audience exciting films that raises the stakes and create new and unique challenges for the heroes. Most of these villains won't sell that kind of film to the general audience. Like Spideyboy 1111 has said they are missing much of their most compelling and diverse elements that could offer something different that these movies need to offer. Especially with the barrage of competition coming from WB, Marvel and Sony. Yes I said Sony, with an MCU Spiderman moving forward.

And since when I said it would revert back to Fox? I only said secretly shared but thats just a wild wishful thinking coming from me.

Because you used the word "shared" as in between Fox and Marvel correct? They couldn't possibly share a character neither never had.

Trapster is just terrible. You know, go ahead and let them use him :)

That's why I only think he'll work as part of the Frightful Four. He'd be Ben's enemy who Ben would call Paste Pot Pete to annoy him/distract him. He'd find a backpack full of adhesive to be an ingenious way of containing Thing without realizing that he's the most ridiculous character in the entire film and Thing is actually strong enough to eventually break out after the adhesive dries.
