Here is my problem with this theory of Fox reshoots having to do with adding action. Why bring in the actors when their characters are so heavily reliant on CGI? If it's a action piece where you don't need them adding dialogue why have the reshoots? They don't throw away any of the animation and in this movie most a lot of action is done by CGI models and stunt men or women.

I'm going to bet right now Ben doing...whatever when he's dropping out of the plane is reshoots. CGI character doing the action, no one needed outdoors but stuntmen, all the actors just have to do is sit in a room and stare at monitors. Seems like a reshoot.

Anybody doing Mo Cap has everything they've done in that suit stored to a computer. Once stored animators take it from there, if they wanted to do an action sequence with the Thing they wouldn't need Jaime like at all.

As well as anything with Mara's hilariously bad wig.

We've seen two shots with that in it. Obviously reshoots.

The score isn't bad but it reminds me very much of the first Amazing Spider-Man's score

Oh was that one of the bad wig scenes? Well that settles that then. :funny:

That's definitely reshoot shots.

The actors are contractually obligated to attend reshoots whether they are needed for small inconsequential stuff or large action scenes. Thats why they are there. And even tho their characters rely on cgi the actors would be needed for the stuff that isnt cgi. Johnny isnt always on fire. Sue isnt always invisible and flying. And Reed isnt always entirely cgi. So they would need to be there.

I'm not sure why Suicide Squad needs action scenes. They should just make it about Amanda Waller trying to get the Suicide Squad approved. It can be a prequel to Suicide Squad called Suicide Squad, just like this is a prequel to Fantastic Four.
:db:

I'm sure there was always some action, doesn't mean that they didn't add more.
There was probably a short battle with Doom at the end. Other than that, nothing.

Fox green-lit the exact same thing in 2005.

As for the reshoots, there were reports of stuntmen showing up. We knew they were (re?)shooting action scenes. Then we find out it took 3 entire months for some reason. Then we suddenly see action-packed trailers with Kate Mara wearing a bad wig in the middle of the action. Hmm...

FANTASTIC FOUR embargo lifts... 4pm PST the day before the movie comes out. Hmm. (That's for online. Print embargo lifts day of release.)

Lol, yep, this thing is definitely going to suck.

That's a dick move. This movie deserves people breaking the embargo.

I remember hearing the original cut only had the Doctor Doom escape (where Johnny and Sue fight each other) and the final battle against Doom. So, they'd have added the Thing drop, those two separated war zone scenes and that part where the portal levels a forest.

Doesn't do any favours to the rumors of a problematic production, but I can kinda' see where they're coming from. People are so ready to hate it all the positives will be barely acknowledged and the all the negatives put through the magnifying glass. This way they at least secure a good opening day.

That's not a serious time for the embargo to end. Why have screenings at all?
